This isn’t the only leak in the past week either, the other being Corbyn’s health.

Unless I'm missing something they're for personal use. Releasing child porn could back fire quite badly, surely!

A few years ago, a woman alleged she had underage sex with all these powerful friends of Epstein, who recorded it and he debriefed her afterwards so he would have powerful secrets to blackmail them with.

This seems like the blackmail tales Epstein was sitting on...this could be huge.

Trump, Clinton, Prince Andrew...

Or the tapes will mysteriously go missing and never be spoken of again.

Trump is laughably thin skinned and what makes it all the funnier is he's the leader of a party who's supporters call people "Snowflakes" for any issues they have with them. Trump for some reason feels the need to reply to any criticism however slight like a 5 year old on crack.
He's seriously responding to someone calling him unstable by firing off unhinged tweets and calling him names. The obvious and adult thing for a normal President to do would be to ignore this and carry on as normal but not old fat strawberry float Trump.

I'm most likely banned forever from visiting the USA because of this but yeah, if you're reading this NSA goon squad person on Trump internet insult patrol I wasn't planning on visiting anyway as I've been to Pompeii so I already know what ruined places look like.

Not underage sex, I think it happened in Spain. Totally clears the president, thank you!

And is this likely to be an actual thing (the whole conspiracy part, not just Epstein) or is it just the liberal version of Pizzagate?

It seems like the police are releasing stuff, it also affects Liberals. I'm guessing Clinton could be tied up in it.

I seem to remember there was some suggestion that Prince Charles had relationships with a sex slave. It's not anything to do with that is it?

Edit: It was Prince Andrew and it is connected.

If there's one thing that I've learned from listening to My Favorite Murder, it's that it's not unusual for American law enforcement to interfere with crime scenes, "lose" valuable evidence, and worse, either by corrupt design, inexperience, or through sheer incompetence

However, this case concerns a child sex trafficking ring involving multiple extremely high profile individuals, and the law enforcement officers involved are the FBI - not perfect people by any means, but much more reliable and well schooled in this kind of thing than local cops, whose corruption and incompetence might lead a case like this to quickly disappear.

Also, let's not forget that American conservatives are masters of projection, so right now it looks like Pizzagate was yet another case of that.

I don't know if Trump can or will be taken down by this, but it's gonna be a wild ride.

Trump Can’t Block Critics From His Twitter Account, Appeals Court Rules

President Trump has been violating the Constitution by blocking people from following his Twitter account because they criticized or mocked him, a federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday. The ruling could have broader implications for how the First Amendment applies to the social-media era.

Because Mr. Trump uses Twitter to conduct government business, he cannot exclude some Americans from reading his posts — and engaging in conversations in the replies to them — because he does not like their views, a three-judge panel on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled unanimously.

Trump dossier author Steele gets 16-hour DOJ grilling

The interview was contentious at first, according to two people familiar with the matter, but investigators ultimately found his testimony CREDIBLE and even surprising.

Christopher Steele, the former British spy behind the infamous “dossier” on President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia, was interviewed for 16 hours in June by the Justice Department’s internal watchdog, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The interview is part of an ongoing investigation that the Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, has been conducting for the past year. Specifically, Horowitz has been examining the FBI’s efforts to surveil a one-time Trump campaign adviser based in part on information from Steele, an ex-British MI6 agent who had worked with the bureau as a confidential source since 2010.

Horowitz’s team has been intensely focused on gauging Steele’s credibility as a source for the bureau. But Steele was initially reluctant to speak with the American investigators because of the potential impropriety of his involvement in an internal DOJ probe as a foreign national and retired British intelligence agent.

Steele’s allies have also repeatedly noted that the dossier was not the original basis for the FBI’s probe into Trump and Russia.

The extensive, two-day interview took place in London while Trump was in Britain for a state visit, the sources said, and delved into Steele’s extensive work on Russian interference efforts globally, his intelligence-collection methods and his findings about Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, who the FBI ultimately surveilled. The FBI’s decision to seek a surveillance warrant against Page — a warrant they applied for and obtained after Page had already left the campaign — is the chief focus of the probe by Horowitz.

The interview was contentious at first, the sources added, but investigators ultimately found Steele’s testimony credible and even surprising. The takeaway has irked some U.S. officials interviewed as part of the probe — they argue that it shouldn’t have taken a foreign national to convince the inspector general that the FBI acted properly in 2016. Steele’s American lawyer was present for the conversation.

Doesn't sound like Steele has lost an ounce of credibility, even when being grilled by professionals paid to be skeptical of everything in the dossier.

Good man.

What lovely people

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... budget-cut

Trump labor secretary who cut Epstein deal plans to slash funds for sex trafficking victims

Alexander Acosta, the US labor secretary under fire for having granted Jeffrey Epstein immunity from federal prosecution in 2008, after the billionaire was investigated for having run a child sex trafficking ring, is proposing 80% funding cuts for the government agency that combats child sex trafficking.

Acosta’s plan to slash funding of a critical federal agency in the fight against the sexual exploitation of children is contained in his financial plans for the Department of Labor for fiscal year 2020. In it, he proposes decimating the resources of a section of his own department known as the International Labor Affairs Bureau (ILAB).

The bureau’s budget would fall from $68m last year to just $18.5m. The proposed reduction is so drastic that experts say it would effectively kill off many federal efforts to curb sex trafficking and put the lives of large numbers of children at risk.

Trump’s July Fourth event and weekend protests bankrupted D.C. security fund, mayor says

President Trump’s overhauled July Fourth celebration cost the D.C. government $1.7 million, an amount that — combined with police expenses for demonstrations through the weekend — has bankrupted a special fund used to protect the nation’s capital from terrorist threats and provide security at events such as rallies and state funerals.

In a letter to the president Tuesday, D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser (D) warned that the fund has now been depleted and is estimated to be running a $6 million deficit by Sept. 30. The mayor also noted that the account was never reimbursed for $7.3 million in expenses from Trump’s 2017 inauguration.

I'm increasingly concerned that Warren is going to win the nomination. I don't see her beating Trump in a million years. Kamala Harris needs another good debate to build up momentum.

I think it's going to be Biden/Harris.

Warren could definitely beat Trump.

Unintentionally from what he originally intended, that tweet most amusingly is almost completely spot on.
