Well that's basically the argument that is being made. Although I'm guessing Moggy will be back to tell me this case won't effect anything.
You really think that anybody has permanently changed their allegiance to Trump because of the impeachment trial?
Trump has so many scandals that this’ll seem like a distant memory by the time November gets here.
And I don’t think it’s a good long term plan to ignore corruption and law breaking by the president.
There's a number of voters in the rust belt of the US who might switch one way or the other and they represent the best chance for Trump to win. This has made it more likely that they'll come out for Trump again.
I don't think you should ignore it but unless you have a good chance of getting things to stick, your just going to make him look better. This isn't going to be dropped for anything else, every time Trump speaks he's going to talk about it. His actions have already being normalised by what happened.
The time to get him would be 2021 when he's out of office and the Dems have control of country and normal legal systems can work on him. By moving now the Dems are just making him more likely to get him in for another four years so he can continue to kick lumps out of the US political system and further break it.
Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.
