This is a very comforting statement but not really true.

Yeah it might not be to be fair, I'm no expert, but that's the general vibe I get from all of my internet political interactions and observations. Sample of 1 though so I admit not accurate.

It's an over statement but I definitely happens to me. When I talk to the more right wing people at work I'm called a lefty socialist and when I talk to my left wing friends I'm a right wing Tory scum bag. They can't both be right.

I just find it scandalous that so many people are openly prevented from voting.

Biden says there's no way he would pardon Trump as president. :o

Joe Biden has warned President Donald Trump that he’ll face the full force of the law if he fails to get re-elected in November.

The Democratic presidential hopeful took questions in a virtual town-hall event on MSNBC on Thursday night. Biden was asked by a voter if he could rule out following the example of Gerald Ford, who pardoned Richard Nixon to help the nation heal following the Watergate scandal.

Biden didn’t speak to any specific potential charge against Trump, but committed to ensuring that any prosecutorial decisions would be dictated by the law—and not him. “Absolutely, yes, I commit,” said Biden. “It’s hands-off completely. Look, the attorney general of the United States is not the president’s lawyer, it’s the people’s lawyer.... It’s not something the president is entitled to do, to direct either a prosecution or decide to drop a case. That is not the president’s role or responsibility and it’s a dereliction of his duty.”

It's so nice to hear that.

Realistically I can see him resigning before January so President Mike Pence pardons him. :(

The rather long period after the election before a new President is sworn-in will make that a possibility. It'll be a hugely cynical move that will ruin his reputation forever but if it keeps Trump out of prison he'll do it in a heartbeat and as always Fox News will be 100% behind him.

If he resigns, it'll be after he's defeated in the election - maybe right before the transition. President Pence then pardons him, and he gets to say, "I didn't lose, I quit."

It would also make Pence's a hilariously short-lived Presidency where he can do almost nothing.

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of these Joe Biden sexual assault accusations. At the moment they’ve received minimal coverage. But for maximum impact you’d expect them to reappear closer to election.

The story will be run into the ground even if it becomes obvious that it's total crap.
You just need to look at how they treated other made-up crap like the Obama birth certificate or Benghazi to see how they work.

Since the pandemic, I’ve watched CNN and CBS News almost every day for the past 2 months now and I’ve not seen 1 solitary segment or discussion on it, aside from Trump’s press conference jibe. Maybe it’s different on Fox News, but that doesn’t air anymore on Sky.

You wouldn't know it, going by social media, but I guess it would be helpful for the press to get some solid info and confirm it before running a story - maybe they're having trouble. Reade destroyed her own credibility. Not sure what's going on with the others.

Phenomenal Churchillian speech. An all time classic.

What the strawberry floating hell is happening in this world? I skimmed past that earlier thinking it was the usual parody gooseberry fool and he tweeted it himself?

The funny thing is that it's an internationalist speech. The whole line "this won't just be Americans independence day..." Is meant to bring in the rest of the world.

It's not bad but it's not exactly the Picard speech from First Contact about the Borg.

Now that was a speech!
