Surely they can just set up a task force and let them get on with it? Not having the time to investigate isn't really an excuse.

We all know the evidence will be there to convict Trump. He is definitely no criminal mastermind, he can't keep his mouth shut. The only thing protecting him is that he controls everything.

The polls are never all that wrong. They were spot on with the popular vote. The trouble is the electoral college.

And from what little I understand about that, is that collectively just decide the outcome regardless of votes.

I think the problem is the scale of the investigation that will be required, and the number of obstacles and people/institutions that would still be actively blocking it even after Trump and the Republicans have lost. Trump isn't a mastermind but it doesn't mean everyone involved is a moron.

It absolutely needs to happen, but it's not going to be easy and there will need to be a balancing act between investigating what has happened over the last 4 years and actually doing work to put the country back on track to undo the mess - I don't think either of those tasks can be achieved in as thorough a way as is necessary within the space of a single term (which may be all the Democrats get :dread: )

I saw the politician's name but didn't know anything of his persuasion. Just the thought of it is so strawberry floating ludicrous I thought it warranted a post.

Hes got big leads in nearly all the swing states.

And when you say the polls have been wrong so many times, what you mean is 'twice - and just barely'.

Oh yeah it warranted a post.

He's a member of this party: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progress_Party_(Norway)

Basically the political party of Twitter style "classical liberals".

Biden's leads in Florida and North Carolina have both narrowed recently and are turning into tossups. He should still hold on to Pennsylvania and is comfortable in the midwest but it's much tighter than it was a couple of months ago.

That coupled with the likelihood of results on the day of the election likely being better for Trump than Biden due to more people voting via the post and you have a recipe for an incredibly hairy November.

Eww. That makes a hell of a lot more sense than some run of the mill politician nominating him.

The polls in Florida for Biden have barely changed. There's been higher polling for Trump which has narrowed it, I find it unbelievable that there are still "undecideds" in America. Surely by now they should know if they love or hate Trump? Who the hell thinks "he's ok"?

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/florida/

The postal votes are going to make this messy. If Trump wins on the day, he's going to go all out on postal votes being unreliable/fraudulent. It could go on for weeks and will only get nastier.

Will be interesting if Trump narrowly loses on the day, will he then change his mind to say postal votes are great and he can't concede until all votes are counted?

Presumably there are people who dislike the Dems as they see them as leftist anarchists and also see Trump as a pretty shitty human being. Basically buying all the attack lines.

Trump inexplicably agreed to be interviewed on tape (!) for Bob Woodward's new book. CNN has been playing the audio and strawberry floating hell. He admits to Woodward in February how dangerous coronavirus was while downlplaying it in press conferences.

Who thought agreeing to be taped by Woodward was a good idea?

Thanks Woodward for just holding on to that information, no way that could have made a difference to the near 200,000 people who died during this dumb culture war.
