Even then the real fight for change needs to happen. Biden is unlikely to change anything that needs changing and in 4 or 8 years we'll likely see another Republican using the Trump playbook to "drain the swamp".

Getting Trump out is going to be great. But without real change this is only going to happen again.

I just don't see how another Republican can use this playbook. The cult of Trump is so strong, I don't see who else is going to be able to make those plays. I think the Republicans are in for a shock if they do lose this election.

There are multiple conflicting dates about when this happened. The shop owner ALSO at some points says in fact the FBI contacted him about the laptops, and ALSO says they already had them but asked him for help accessing them... he can't make up his mind. There's also conflicting information about whether the FBI took the laptops themselves, or just copies, or what. Either way, the FBI get the device full of highly incriminating evidence in December 2019... and nothing at all comes of it.

The owner then contacted Rudy Giuliani (huge Trump ally, on Trumps private legal team, central figure in his impeachment) who took the laptops. He also gave a copy to Stephen Bannon (far-right news site Breitbart fame, Trump's old campaign manager, recently arrested for money laundering). Or maybe he made a copy first for Rudy? They can't seem to decide which order the events happened in. Either way, Rudy then sat on the child pornography(!!!) and other stuff for 9 months or so, and now has eventually decided to start dripping information about it out to various right wing news sources, and given copies to the Delaware police, even though the FBI already have it. However he wont actually release anything which is evidence, any real information, or anything which can be interrogated at all really. He's choosing to release things to random far right commentators on twitter, who somehow appear to have the inside scoop on the FBI investigation (counter to what the FBI have said).

The emails "released" are poor photoshops, are widely discredited, and the releasers are refusing to show the metadata associated which would prove whether they were real or not. The metadata on the released pdfs of the emails have dates of October 2019 which is after the laptop was dropped off.
