Republicans love voting for banana splits, but it looks like Trump attracted lots of other banana splits.

Expressing those as a percentage of a) total USA population, and b) total election votes, would provide greater relevance

Edit: Nice one Rex.

Feel free to do the maths yourself ;)

The big jumps happen in 2000, 2004 and 2020. America loves a banana split of a President.

In terms of the GOP, some (most?) appear to have effectively disowned the Trumpster.

Now, whether Teflon Don's base will see this as a betrayal of their Supreme Leader, and no longer vote for the Republicans, that is up in the air. Like Moggy I think it's probably hopeful at best, but time will ultimately tell.

I'd like Trump to run as an Independent in 2024 because it would effectively hand the election to the Democrats, but more importantly, it could be the wedge that absolutely splinters the Rs and that would be a glorious, glorious thing.

That said, I'm torn because of my desire to see Annoying Orange indicted and incarcerated, so I guess I'll take what I can get.

Maybe the Dumpster can rot in prison while one of his scumbag sons goes for it instead, enabling the glorious splintering we so desire? 8-)

They'll hopefully be in jail too.

I'll happily accept one of them remaining free if it results in an ultimately ineffective third party that reduces support for the Republicans.

We should get Jenuall to run a script to estimate the numbers, then get Tomous to audit them and provide sign off.

This new party would simultaneously hold the record for both the lowest and highest support in history!

If it's anything like a forum game, Jenuall would be assassinated before Inauguration Day.

I know this is bad time for a bad take but AOC has a cracking rack.

She’s a fabulous politician and she makes excellent points but dayum.

Reports now that all the panic buttons were removed from one Dem senator's office, and that Republicans were seen giving in-depth tours of the Capitol the day before.

It sounds like conspiracy nonsense. But it's only nonsense if there's no conspiracy and there's a build up of evidence that...there was?

It seems crazy conspiracy theory to suggest Senators would do that.

But then I look at the strawberry floating crazy Senators they have and it suddenly doesn't seem so far fetched.

It's sad that such a scenario is even slightly believable but that's where we are now.
I would hope it isn't true but it wouldn't shock me if it is.

They could at least give those soldiers cots to rest on.

It's becoming clear that it wasn't just incendiary speechmaking, social media posting, terrorist cops and a Trump sycophant of a Defense Secretary that allowed the attempted coup to happen the way it did.

The Republicans giving those tours knew full well that their tours would make it far, far easier for their Democratic colleagues to be murdered. There should be a full FBI investigation and many, many expulsions from Congress.

I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories but on this I agree.
