That's great, but it doesn't really work when there are other nearby states where guns are freely available.

It’s not really a counter attack is it? The supreme court said it’s up to individual states to determine abortion rights. New York making sure those rights are secure for its citizens doesn’t help citizens in the several states that immediately made abortion illegal with the recent ruling.

It's positive for New York but it ain't gonna help Sleepy Joe in November.

And do what? The power of the presidency was intentionally restricted at its creation.

I know that, you know that, but I wouldn't bet on America knowing that.

What exactly was the point in electing him then?

He won't make things any worse.

That's literally it. It's voting for having a putrid pond full of fetid water stinking up your garden, or voting for being pushed into the pond.

He's managed to get more federal judges put in place than any president in a long time. At this point Trump had nominated 33, Biden's had 60 non-batshit federal judges appointed. That will do good. And 1 supreme court judge, and while that was exchanging a liberal for a liberal it's better than whatever Qanon supporter Trump would have put in place.

The president either has power or they don't. I don't think it's fair to ask voters to stop one candidate from making things worse if they win office by electing someone who says they fundamentally can't make things better in the same seat.

Well he's just cut a deal with Mitch McConnell to put an anti-abortion lawyer on a lifetime appointment as a federal judge in Kentucky, so I don't think even that's going so well.

Because the alternative was much worse.

If Trump won with the current make up of the House and Senate presumably he wouldn't actually be able to make things worse, if the power of the presidency is so restricted?

Do we know what Biden got from this deal?

A promise from McDonnell that he won't hold up other federal appointments. I'm sure that's something he can be trusted on.

EDIT - I didn't see Alvin actually told us this news on the previous page. Sorry Alvin!

If Trump had won you can guarantee another couple of liberal judges would have died.

All the gooseberry fool McDonnell has pulled over the years, at every given opportunity, what is Biden thinking?

Biden thinks he's living in the 1970s, when politicians would get together and horse trade at dinner. He appears to show no signs that he understands that McConnell's word is worthless.

Also, the thing he's giving McConnell is a lifetime judicial appointment, in exchange for two six year term US attorney jobs that the next president would be within their power to end.

That's not a good deal.
