Let's hope his entire legacy goes the same way.

So brazen even some of the most jaded political correspondents are expressing outright shock at this.

Assume he's only wearing a mask now to try to hide his shame.

I love the Cummings defence

Reports suggest he was actually due to fly back on Saturday, but changed the ticket at 6am.

Just heard on CNN that Texas was minutes away from a ‘catastrophic months-long blackout’, according to officials at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. Had the grid operators not implemented blackouts in areas, they would have had a catastrophic failure that could have left vast swathes of the state in darkness for months.

Apparently they’re operating on a different power grid to the rest of the US.

Nah it's well known that there's a secret nuclear power plant underneath Texas University, they'll be fine.

Where's Trump's ultra geniusness when they need it?
He'd spout some Trek style technobable and have this solved in a jiffy.

I bet they haven't even tried to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow  .

They're on their own grid to avoid regulations and be thoroughly corrupt. This means that they cannot "borrow" energy from the eastern or western grids, and those grids can't connect to them.

The moment the state goes blue, that grid needs to be fixed and incorporated into the rest of the country.

Just think if this all happened before the last election.

Jesus, all the people defending him are like 'WELL, WHAT COULD HE DO ABOUT IT?'

He's the strawberry floating senator for the state  There's a politician from NY who has shown more leadership and willingness to help than Cruz has. Showing that you are with your constituents, enduring the same thing as them and trying to do something about it is extremely important. It gives people of hope.

Goddamn Rep apologists.

He's doing his best!

Speaking as someone whos had their Mexico trip moved and cancelled twice now, we've been watching the various social media groups for the hotels and it's disgusting the attitude a lot of the Americans have to the place. They really treat it like a weekend theme park. Test before you go? Nah strawberry float that, only there for a weekend anyway, I'll be at home by the time it kicks in. strawberry float the staff. Speaking of staff, here's us hugging our favourite staff members with no masks or anything, but I have covid symptoms, luckily I'll be home tomorrow y'all. They swap tips on how to suppress a temperature on the way in, how to hide symptoms. Appalling behaviour. That Cruz group chat just shows it, "we'll get tested on the way back"

strawberry floating banana splits.

Ted Cruz: "In hindsight, if I had understood how it would be perceived, the reaction people would have, obviously I wouldn't have done it"

What the strawberry float is wrong with these banana splits. :|

I am sort of hoping Trump's new party does well enough to the point it splits the Republican party in half, throws Democrat Senate/House candidates way out in front in elections over the next few years and allows Kamala Harris to take an unprecedented level of control over the country in 2024.

It obviously won't pan out like that and will probably go on to cause more harm long-term but ah well, I can dream about it for now.
