Bryan Fuller is linked to it so I'm excited :)

Most stuff on Amazon is added episodically so no Netflix style binge watching.

Amazon is only distributing it in the UK, it airs on Stars in America.

And of course, Starz is an additional subscription.

I really hate how all these networks get to append additional subscription fees to these services. This is why piracy is still going strong!

Studios, Writers Guild Avert Strike With Last-Minute Deal

Negotiations were touch and go, but resulted in an agreement.

Talks between the Writers Guild of America and AMPTP studio alliance went down to the wire Monday night but ultimately resulted in a three-year deal, averting a threatened walkout that could have cost jobs and homes, hit the California economy with a $200 million blow per week, accelerated cord-cutting and driven audiences off linear channels and onto digital platforms.

David Young, executive director of WGA West, confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that a deal had been reached. Leaving the closed door meetings, Patric Verrone, who was WGA president last time the guild went on strike in 2007-2008, told THR it was a good deal for the writers. Michael Winship, president of Writers Guild East, echoed Verrone's comments and added that the union effectively mobilized the membership with the authorization.

The WGA and the AMPTP released a short joint statement early Tuesday morning confirming the length of the deal: "The Writers Guilds of America, West and East and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have concluded negotiations and have reached a tentative agreement on terms for a new three-year collective bargaining agreement."

The last Hollywood walkout lasted 100 days and cost the California economy an estimated $2.1 billion to $2.5 billion. This time, the parties managed to avoid a sequel and instead bridged their differences and the significant dollar gap that separated them.

It was not immediately clear how various issues were resolved, but sources earlier told THR that a host of issues remained in play. They included:

* Payment of overages when writers work longer on episodes of short-order series, an issue referred to as “span” because the crux of the matter is the time span that a writer spends working on a script.

* Limitations on holds and exclusivity — the practice of putting TV writers on ice, uncompensated, between seasons even on short order series, where the smaller number of episodes mean that the writers are making less to begin with than on traditional network series.

* Script parity, the WGA demand that scripts for all platforms be subject to the same wage floors regardless of the production budget.

* Basic wage increases and “outsize increases,” the WGA insistence that a variety of categories of writer get extra-large salary increases.

* Cash infusions into the guild’s troubled health plan.

Details will emerge over the next days and weeks.

American Gods seems like it could be quite good, first episode was fairly impressive and had some interesting plot developments, the final scene could have done without quite as much cgi blood though and the succubus sex scene was a bit of a wtf moment.

Have you read the book? It's full of wtf sex scenes, half of them aren't even referenced ever again.

"Bubble Watch: Latest Status Report On ‘Elementary’, ‘Exorcist’, ‘Taken’, ‘Once’, ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ & Other Series In Limbo" -

CBS -

I hear Elementary is expected to return and is staffing for next season.

2 Broke Girls is in the midst of tough renewal negotiations between CBS and producer Warner Bros. TV. The outcome is still up in the air, with a limited, 13-episode pickup a possibility.

I hear there is no hope for freshman comedy The Great Indoors. Also unlikely to continue is The Odd Couple.

Code Black clinched a last-minute renewal last season and, with a solid pitch for next season, I hear it’s very much in the mix, likely for a shorter order.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders is not expected to come back.

ABC -

Designated Survivor is coming back. Also expected to come back is veteran Once Upon a Time, which is in a process of closing deals with four cast members who would lead a planned reimagining.

Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. also is getting renewed I hear. Quantico, appears to have a decent shot at continuing as it makes money for ABC Studios via international and SVOD deals.

I hear there is a small chance for The Catch to come back. I hear there is a very small chance of a possible limited order, like 6 episodes, for American Crime.

Not expected to continue is low-rated sophomore family comedy The Real O’Neals, with the network’s newest half-hour addition, Imaginary Mary also looking unlikely.

NBC -

The newer Chicago shows –– Chicago Med and Chicago Justice — may not both come back. There had been some chatter about Chicago Med being possibly a bit more vulnerable but it’s all in flux. In a challenging off-network marketplace for dramas, there have been no syndication sales yet for Chicago Fire, now in Season 5, or Chicago PD, in Season 4, likely leading to reexamining the long-term business plan for the Chicago franchise.

Taken, which does well internationally for NBCUniversal, is looking good for renewal.

Timeless and Blindspot both are in limbo. Both have modest but loyal audience, appealing casts and do well in delayed viewing and both are from outside studios. I hear NBC is not losing money on them but it may come down to a scheduling decision on both, with their renewal contingent on the network’s needs for performers with built-in fan base.

Trial & Error looks promising to return for another installment. Two weeks into its run, fellow newbie Great News also appears unlikely barring a big ratings upswing next week.

Fox -

It is unclear why Batman drama Gotham has not been renewed yet but it is expected to be. And despite not getting a back order, the well-received new drama Exorcist also looks good to come back.

Based on its legacy, 24: Legacy has a decent shot at coming back despite a very rocky first season. Fellow midseason drama entry APB is not expected to continue.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is expected to return. New Girl could get a limited, 13-episode final season. The Last Man On Earth has become increasingly narrow but looks promising to come back.

CW -

iZombie is expected to return

I can't connect to Astraweb all of a sudden. I sort of assume (some) people still use usenet for their TV downloading needs; anyone else having trouble?

Finally about to finish my Lost rewatch. It's been emotional. :(

There isn't much to like about the final season but Terry O'Quinn is absolutely fan-fucking-tastic as The Man in Black.

I keep meaning to rewatch Lost but I haven't had the time. The fact it's not on UK Netflix doesn't help either.

You need to watch The Leftovers though.
