The mum in The Americans I think is the most psychotic character on TV. It's wild how quickly she goes from zero to murder and it doesn't really bother her.

The show has really gone off the rails, not that it was ever that good, but it's just kind of rampant nonsense now.

I've only watched a few episodes of The Americans but isn't she a highly trained Russian spy? Is it much of a stretch that she'd be okay with murder?

Maybe in extreme cases when absolutely necessary. In the first few seasons I don't remember them killing anyone, though I'm sure there are one or two. In the past couple though she's just a strawberry floating psycho. Also I would imagine being an undercover spy she doesn't want to get caught. The show equates murder with getting away scott free.

Anyone been watching this latest series of Killing Eve? I still need to watch the finale but is it just me or has it actually been pretty gooseberry fool for a while now?

I enjoyed it well enough. Not thrilled by it as when it first came out but I find the overall craft quality is enough to keep me entertained.

Highlight of this series for me was visiting Villanelle's original home.

Killing Eve is massively overrated due to the dearth in quality programming in recent years. People have started to settle for mediocrity.

I think the first series was genuinely very good, it set up some compelling characters and was something of a breath of fresh air with its slightly less serious and sour faced take on the genre. But whilst they've had moments it has been downhill for the last two series overall in my view.

Those cast changes for The Good Fight are both terrible news. :( What's going on behind the scenes there that they keep losing major cast members?

Rewatching The Wire in the current climate throws up some interesting stuff. Scenes like the beat downs Bodie gets or when Bird get’s assaulted while handcuffed in custody certainly give you more pause for thought than I’ve previously paid them. They never really focussed on police brutality or institutionalised racism in the show. I mean they certainly cover the department being strawberry floated up but more from a lack of training and overwhelmed by the drug trade angle. Wonder if they’d ever come back and do a season 6 on it.

At least they can just kill off the character without affecting the show too much, or just recast the role and have him 'shapeshift' to look like the new actor.

Batwoman on the other hand could be a trickier problem to fix now Ruby Rose has apparently 'quit' the show.

I've heard they're just having another character take up the Batwoman mantle?

Ralph Dibny is the easiest recast ever as they can have the character literally change face.

Apparently it's a brand new character who might be original for the TV show. Though the character description for the casting call sounds vaguely like Harper Row.

I don't watch Batwoman but why would it be a new character playing her and not just pretend nothing happened like Spartacus main actor or Will's Aunt in Fresh Prince of Bel Air?

(Been years since I saw either show but can't remember if they broke the 4th wall to address Fresh Prince change. I think Spartacus did a tribute at the end credits though since the actor died as opposed to quit or got the sack.)
