So I've barely scratched the surface but this is already so sick. Seeing Half Life 2 running at silky smooth 60fps in the palm of my hands is just strawberry floating awesome. Controls are nice too with the choice of sticks, gyro or track pad.

Ended up just playing Vampire Survivors mainly for tonight and it's definitely more comfortable for long play sessions than the Switch.

Can't wait to really feel like I know the kit, the weather cools down and I can get comfy playing something spooky like Alien or Alan Wake in bed.

Also seems like I have the good, quiet fan. Didn't run anything too strenuous but it seemed pretty quiet to me.

Just can't wait for the weather to cool a bit so I can have a long session of gaming. It's just too hot at the minute.

125 of my 620 games are Verified. There are some old surprises in there too like Vampire Redemption and Dead Rising so I'm definitely looking forward to playing them handheld.

Will we see Decks available to buy from a regular shop this year or will it always be a steam store exclusive?

Considering the Index isn't in regular shops either, I very much doubt the Deck will be coming to the high street.

Also it's crazy how nostalgic the Steam Green keyboard layout made me. I'd completely forgotten about original Steam's colour scheme and it really hit me in the emotions.

The url was also for "valve.com" which isn't even Valve's website (Their site is valvesoftware.com and it doesn't actually have a news section, it's basically their recruitment website)

I deleted my post as no one wanted to play with me. :(

Didn't delete your message though dude so not sure what happened there.

What's the expectation for when this will just be freely available to buy? I want one but not enough to faff with a waiting list or whatever.

No indication as yet.

The waiting list really isn't a faff though. You add it to your basket like anything else, pay the £4 deposit and then your account will show an ETA for your purchase email.

If you really want one, just order now as I imagine the waiting list will be in place for a while yet.

Just paid for my 512GB Deck.

Now I have to decide if I want it right away, or if I want it to be put away for 5 months but have my mum pay for it as a Christmas present :shifty:

Don't wait for Christmas. It's far too amazing to wait until then.

What's the consensus on storage space? Is it worth going for the 512gb for an extra £220 ( :dread: ), or would I be better off going for the 64gb and upgrading to an m2 myself?

The other stuff you get with the 512gb model is pretty nice though. The anti-glare screen is a bonus and the carry case is really excellent and high quality.

As soon as they have a model with an OLED screen I’ll jump on one of these, emulation seems to be great right? If I wanted to set it up to run PS1/2 and GC games?

Think all models come with carry cases, the 512GB just has a different colour badge.

It depends how happy you are to carry out that replacement and if the cost saving is worth it to you. There's plenty of guides online, but it does look fiddly, and I've read that the case screws are the kind that can shear if not put back exactly right, so will need great caution. Alternatively, the read speeds from high transfer rate SD cards have compared well against the internal SSD, so you can always use expandable storage like that if you don't mind a marginal increase in load times.

I will say that the anti glare screen on the 512GB model is excellent. I've been able to play mine in the garden on a very sunny day (not in direct sunlight, mind) just fine. Doesn't justify the cost increase on its own, but it's a great quality screen.

Got my email the other day but had to let it slide.

Financial situation sucks right now. Might be able reserve again in a few months but I'm genuinely pissed off. Had been really looking forward to it as well.

I'm probably the only person who was really hoping for a big delay in getting my email and it being closer to Christmas. The problem is if I let it slide now and rejoin the queue there's no guarantee it would be this side of Christmas, or even Q1 next year.

Did anyone have to pay import tax? Mine seems to be shipping from the Netherlands and I'm a bit worried I'm going to get a couple of days.
