It’ll ship Thursday deliver Friday, I reckon. I was just strawberry floated by being in N. Ireland (so different, baffling customs rules) and the email coming in the day before Good Friday.

Per game performance profiles are in the latest update:

Aside, mine is currently on it's way into the UK from the Netherlands. Looks like the main UK depot for GLS isn't actually too far from me, so fingers crossed it's here soon.

It's here! Been spending most of the day tinkering with it while at work, getting games downloaded. Initial impressions are excellent. It's a massive bit of kit, but it sits really comfortable in the hands. You don't really notice the weight of it until you take one hand off and try to hold the thing by one hand, and it suddenly feels super weighty and off balance. Fortunately the fan on mine seems to be at a decent volume level, although that is with the latest firmware with the extra fan controls. The screen looks great, and the size is ideal. In game, 800p is perfectly fine given what this is, and the per game performance profiles mean I can set more intense games to a fixed 30FPS in gamescope, and then still leave the less taxing titles on 60 as standard.

Done a little playing about with getting Emudeck and Hero launcher set up, but waiting for a few more Steam library titles to finish downloading first, and also getting FFXIV set up to launch through Steam even though I use a non Steam account to play.

Really looking forward to getting properly stuck into this and seeing what I can do with emulation, and running games from Epic and GOG as well. Really impressed so far.

You could probably cook an egg with the heat coming off the fans, thank strawberry float the heat is channelled straight out the middle and nowhere near your hands.

But think of those cold nights as you heat up your house while playing.

We now have a solution to the winter fuel crisis.
The government should provide every household with a Steam Deck.

Get on it Boris.

How are people finding the battery life to be with regular usage?

I'm actually considering skipping this and waiting for the gen 2 Deck.
I just bought an S8 Ultra that can play Gamepass games really nicely so I don't need a deck at the moment.

I also don't expect the next Deck for a few years but I'm happy with my machine's at the moment so the deck can be sidelined for a while.

I expect Deck 2 to be a small power upgrade with a better screen and getting a boost from Zen 4.
