Vampire Survivors (Steam, Game Pass) OUT NOW

I'm working though the unlocks, really love how the game encourages trying new characters and weapons.

I played a bit more. It gets quite addictive when you get to the point you're just cleaving through the enemies. Unlocked three of the levels and managed to get some evolved weapons. I got another character out of a coffin and met a boss.

New update with a few new goodies and a new level.

God this is addictive.

Being playing far to much of this. It feels a lot like a slot machine, it's not particularly difficult, you get a point with power ups that you just end up walking straight through the biggest pile of enemies you can see and just here the 'ping, ping, ping, ping" sound of all the crystals you're picking up, which is so satisfying and then you get a bunch of unlocks at the end of the run.

Oh yeah, it's very much just chock full of dopamine rush stuff, all the animations and sound effects gradually building through the run into a cacophony of noise and colour by the end. I'm more likely to die to an end of level boss simply because I haven't noticed I've walked directly into them rather than because they typically pose a threat.

It's so nice though to find a game that's this constant flow of escalating stimulus, that isn't then trying to use this dopamine high to sell you a load of cosmetic microtransaction guff off the back of it.

Don't know if its been mentioned but you can press B on Xbox to skip most of the box opening animations.

Why would you want to skip that glorious music?

That music is the best bit. I would rather skip everything else so it is just the box opening bits.

Yeah, that's a crazy idea to skip one of the best bits of the experience!

Maybe the first hundred times, it gets a bit wearing after that. I was actively avoiding chests towards the end of the game just to speed it up.

Had a great run earlier, opened the coffin in the mad forest finally, then managed to evolve peachone and ebony wings together, as well as fully evolving the pentagram, and Torrona's box.

Wonderful game. I agree with the above. Moreish.

There's clearly some sort of wizardry going on with this game. I pressed play, and half an hour disappeared. :shifty:
