Remember Me looked really nice but was a repetitive bore to actually play through.

I might pick this up in a week or two though, the setting and story sound pretty interesting.

Remember Me was budget uncharted platforming with budget Arkham Asylum brawling, with an interesting but underutilised combo-creation mechanic. I found it fun enough to play because that's my kind of thing.

The memory sections however were basically 3D ghost trick and were brilliant, the only downside was there being so few of them.

On Vampyr, funnily enough I heard a review of it on Radio 4 yesterday evening! They gave it a 5 out of 10, meaning I think distinctively average, but they also didn't want to give an out of 10 rating so fair play

I took a punt on it last week when it was £24 but I've not had a chance to play it yet.

Gonna boot it up tonight though and give it a shot.

I was expecting this to get 6/10 reviews and be £15 in a few weeks. Very close to buying it though, had it not gone up I probably would have bought it at the weekend.

You'd probably like it

Nilin was created ... as a believable character who would not be over-sexualised or ineffectual when compared to both other female characters and male characters in other games.

Publisher's gotta market a game

(I actually really like that art though, super dig the orange/white and glitch effects)

Just played the first hour or so up to the Hospital and so far it's very much a middle of the road type game. Combat is functional and un-impressive and graphically it's nothing to shout about.

But.... from what I've read it starts to open up and become more about interacting with people, learning their stories and deciding who to eat. So I'm looking forward to diving into that more.

I've already embraced my first victim. I'm going for an "only arseholes" approach and first impressions count.

EDIT: I should add I'm perfectly happy for this to be a "middle of the road" experience in a lot of ways. There's a severe lack of games that don't have a AAA budget but do interesting things and so far Vampyr seems to be one of them.

I've avoided killing anyone other than generic opponents in fights.

Think I've done most stuff in the hospital, and lots of side investigations. Interesting stories and made a couple of choices (don't seem to have changed the story yet...much)

Headed to Whitechapel - didn't realise the NPCs were is a walled off section (makes sense) so thought it was very empty to start. Just been exploring the new characters.

Combat remains boring and basic...changing weapons doesn't seem to alter it up to much. 2 boss fights were hard, but not impossible, so haven't felt the need to eat anyone. There's a clear choice in both Hospital and Whitechapel (for now/unless they reveal hidden depths)

Or has she got massive anime boobs that are hidden by her stance? :slol:

I think he dislikes that she's facing away and showing off her arse in incredibly modest trousers.

How many videogame covers have male protagonists in that sort of pose?

I'm not saying it's the worst thing ever and shouldn't exist, but it's not an image that screams interesting, nonsexualised female protagonist. As Orange pointed out, marketers gotta market. I've downloaded the game now and look forward to playing through it asap as from everything else I've heard, Orange was indeed right.

That... is really not that kind of pose. She has her back to us, that's all they have in common.

It's the same as these, funnily enough:

Plus you really can't make out Evan's bum there.

I'm told.

By a friend.

Sorry that's my fault for derailing, I couldn't help but bite at Taf's smiley.

Speaking of biting - how about that Vampyr game huh?

I'm going to go ahead and say those aren't showing the same pose. In the RM poster, the character is positioned with her rear pushed out so it's front and centre, her arms are also pushed back forcing her chest out. Her trousers are skintight. All the movie posters are different: their shoulders are set, arms tensed by their sides in a statement of strength and, crucially, they're all holding weapons. The movie poster stances are battle ready, the RM stance sensual.

Obviously no-one's going to agree with me on this, au let's get back to Vampyr. If anyone wants to rebut me, my PMs are open, as they say.

‘Pushed out’?!? Pipe down bro, take a day off.
What’s the quality of the writing like in this game? Because graphically - well, the ‘ppl graxix’ look bland as gooseberry fool.
