Someone at work has given this a go. At 3pm this afternoon they were 19,252nd in the login queue.

I'm on a couple of pretty sizable discord servers with channels set up to discuss it. The vast majority of people in there haven't even been able to log on at all. I saw an estimated queue length of 11 hours thrown in there.

I resumed for a month to check it out. Queues seem to have died down now, saw some folk on ResetEra were waiting for 4+ hours to get in a server on launch day I had to wait about an hour last night.

Back in the Stormblood launch window for FFXIV we had instance server crashes, and there was an instanced event right at the start of the expansion and in order to trickle as many people through as possible we had to resort to physical queuing, too. Because otherwise we were just flooding the already overcapped servers.

I can totally believe these queues.

Give them a break, I think it's cool they brought back the original WoW server hardware.

I had no idea the Twitch desktop app was the rebranded Curse client and still has mod support for this. Wish I'd known that from the start since there's a lot of handy levelling guid mods that help in the early game.

I had to wait in a little queue to kill a boss the other day. Thankfully the respawn time was only a few minutes at most so it wasn't that bad but still a weird experience.
