strawberry floating hell this place has reached a new low. :fp:

Resident Evil 4, a bad Resi game, considered better than one of the most playable, refined, respected, influential and important games of all time.

Any non-Resi 4 voters willing to switch to Resi 4?

Just imagine, if someone does, they could both go. :datass:

It's a genuine vote.

Can we all agree Galaxy should win yet?

It's should be SM64 or Doom going. Then one of the Galaxies.

By my count we're at:
Doom - 9
Resi 4 - 6
SM64 - 3
HL2 - 3
BOTW, TTYD & Metroid Prime - 1

Whatever goes today it has to be SM64 that goes tomorrow.

You'll have to remove dem rosetinted goggles off people first.

And Jenuall is right, Doon is one of the most influential games on the list, so if that's your criteria then voting it out now is daft. I know SM64 is too, but I never found it that great and it isn't as good to play now as it was back then, whereas Doom still is.

I’m happy with SM64 or Galaxy going tomorrow so I’ll vote for whichever is most popular.

If Doom goes now, it goes, shame not to see it get the top 10 though.

That said, it should be going further so I’ll make my final case. :P

Though Wolfenstein set the FPS genre on its way, Doom was the game that really popularised it and set the stage for the future classics we saw in the genre (HL2 being one of them) as well as being very fun to play. It is also one of the best ageing games of all time, if not the best. This is almost objectively true - the fact that Doom has been rereleased on just about every single console format going speaks for itself, including the latest gen very recently. On the PC it also has an active modding community 25 years on, some of which (like Eviternity) are incredible. Earlier this year Romero released SIGIL, the 5th episode of Doom, which also brought a number of people back to Doom. How many people are returning to Resi 4 now?

In conclusion I think though there are entries on this list that are equally as innovative, Doom has better replayability than any game left on this list. So it would have been my pick for #1

Doom popularized the FPS genre and set the stage for HL2, wind your neck in.

Doom was released and then 20 years later FPS became a popular genre.
