On my old Samsung tv, there was an option called 'just scan' in the picture settings along side 16:9, 4:3, zoom, etc.

The picture is being overscanned, so just scan (or the equivalent) will map the pixels 1:1.

I'd describe mine as a modest set-up. Clear and concise. :datass:

47" (4K HDR) Samsung display.
On the unit: PS5, Switch, Wii U.
The draws beneath contain a few spare joy-cons, various manuals (for the tv and consoles) and blank cases I use to store the discs of games I'm currently playing.
Behind the screen: Cables and HDMI splitter.

Yeah. I still need to do the whole 'primary system deactivation' for the PS4 before selling it, however.

Been holding off posting this as I only got the monitor mount on Monday and I needed to cannibalise an old TV mount to fix it to the desk and create a makeshift VESA mount for the old right hand monitor. Only finished this afternoon! That's why the cables are a mess, your honour :shifty:

Systems:
- Wall mounted PC: I posted about this at the start of December in the PC thread - hasn't fallen down yet! :toot:

Although I did headbutt the GPU fan trying to adjust the screens today :dread:

- Mega Drive (mounted to the underside of the desk so not visible)
- Gamecube
- Dreamcast
- Atari 2600 Jr
- Atari Jaguar: considering getting rid of this as I bought it cheap on a whim and only have Wolfenstein. I'd rather have my ZX Spectrum up there :wub:

All the consoles are connected to a TV that's just to the left of shot.

Yeah some tidying/hiding of wires would work wonders on that setup Dowbo!

What are the wires which lead off to the right heading into? A separate TV for the old consoles/

Yeah, just an old 32 inch Toshiba. The shelf unit actually has cable management built in but it's never high enough on my to do list!

I'd say between 30 and 40 hours if you include planning and four coats of paint drying. Most of the wall-mounted builds I saw used brand new parts so they unboxed, measured, re-boxed, then cut and finished at leisure. My computer was in use right up until the lunchtime of the day I mounted the components. There was a plan for my build, but it had to change several times as different issues and challenges came up (as shown by my rather fetching headphone mount which was supposed to have a GPU on it!). Even though it's a bit messier than I wanted it's so much cleaner than my old case, and because I only have the CPU and GPU fans it's whisper quiet compared to the case.

I would totally do it again next time I built a PC (not least because there's furniture where my case was!), and I think I've learnt a lot of lessons to take to a new build, which, coupled with being able to plan properly (the movement of the case was a necessity) would lead to a much more streamlined end product.

Added an ultra wide to my desk and swizzled one screen to portrait for work.

Am planning on moving littleun to a bigger bedroom soon and set her room up as my office / game room / man cave which will be fun.

They're both analogue so provided the soldering work is good and the interstial cabling is of a reasonable gauge and shielded, it should be fine.

For RGB scart all the pins need to be connected for it to work.

Component should actually work with normal coaxial kit as well.

I'd just try a few on Amazon or wherever and if it it's gooseberry fool send it back.

Yeah, the problem seems to be finding well shielded ones. I've found a company with selling a powered one for £25 but it's only one extra port (AND What Video Award Winner 2005 :lol:

) but realistically I'll only have my Saturn and SNES hooked up at once through SCART.

Need 3 component ports for PS2, Wii (for Gamecube to force 60Hz) and OG X-Box though.

You could try a composite switch for the component and then a 3 way co-axial phone/RCA connector cable, because as far as I know, besides the colour of the plugs, it's the same thing. Trouble might be finding cables of a decent gauge that can carry the increased bandwidth of those signals.

Case in point, I use an old high end 4-way phone/RCA (the plug) co-axial cable from some hi-fi or whatever, to connect my AV receiver's component out to the TV (because I have the Wii's cable connected to the AV receiver), and that works fine, but it is a really chunky cable.

I managed to find and buy this over the weekend:

It's probably (definitely) overkill, but looks really good quality and I'll have it forever. The optical ins/out is a nice bonus too.

Great idea on the RCA cables though, I should be able to get hold of well shielded ones cheaper than a set of component cables. I might even re-do the component cables I have with better gauge cable.

We've been doing some decorating over the last few weeks and have re-done the lounge setup so the TV is now sat within a bunch of IKEA units/shelves:

It's all much cleaner than it was before and as all of the bottom sections are behind doors it means that lots of things can be hidden away that were previously visible sat on shelves - things like puzzles, board games and all videogame stuff is now tucked away nicely!

I've not finished setting all the gaming stuff up yet, part of the idea was that doing this would give more space so I can get a bunch of older stuff like my 360, Gamecube, and PS2 back out and playable again! For now I've just stuck the PS4, Switch and PC in and quickly lashed up the cabling:

Having the space to stash things like controllers and headphones out of the way has been great as well, previously I'd just been shoving a bunch of things under the sofa which was never a great solution! :lol:

Best thing about doing this is that it has given me the time to sort out a better configuration for everything in terms of cabling. I've put a dedicated network switch in place now which means everything can have its own ethernet connection now instead of relying on WiFi. All of the consoles now go into a HDMI switch and splitter where one output goes to the TV and another to the PC capture card which means that whatever I'm playing is available to stream without any faffing!

Wow, stunning website and products. I'm not into trading cards and I hide my game collection away in cupboards like a dirty secret but there's definitely a market for it out there.

I recently got into CAD design and rendering as part of a project with a client but it's not my background at all - I'm getting interested in it though. Do you do your own designs and outsource to a furniture maker?
