Although you should threaten to leave Sky first, see if you can blag anything out of them to make you a happier customer.

The on demand stuff is great- Curb your Enthusiasm, West Wing, Sopranos, Wire, every ep of Peep Show ever.

No, the on demand stuff is gooseberry fool. Series come and go with no progression, most series have missing episodes or are only half a season... it's a completely disorganised disaster, clearly put together by people who don't like television.

Granted, it isn't a perfect system, but it's significantly better than anything Sky offers which has a similar purpose to on demand.

On demand doesn't just cover TV shows, but BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and 4OD, all of which are brilliant to watch through the Virgin box (especially iPlayer). Hard to understand how anyone can think it's gooseberry fool, when it quite clearly isn't and is the best example of on demand content from a TV provider in this country. :fp:

Surely that's a benefit.

You input it manually. You can't Sky+ it because of this.

Wikipedia gives you instructions:

"It can also be manually tuned to Sky+HD boxes as an FTA by going to Services, Add Channels: 11.427H, 2/3, 27500, Channel 10510, however it is not in the EPG for Sky."

Funnily enough, we're getting Virgin tomorrow. Just seemed a little expensive to be paying a total of around £120 a month for phone and broadband with BT and telly with Sky. Plus, the Sky+ broke and they wanted me to pay £65 just for an engineer to look at it, never mind repair it. Naturally, they agreed to waive the fee after I rang them to cancel my service.

Sky are much better at HD channels - the selection is so much bigger. Virgin's broadband, though, is bloody brilliant, and that's why I still use them.

It's something you just have to keep checking all the time to see what's actually finally available.

Not really, you need to be in a position to bargain, mentioning Sky will help.

Say Sky have offered you so and so for so much and see what Virgin do. Sky and Virgin literally fought over my sister for her custom, she got a great bargain. Virgin won in the end. Even if you're not interested in Sky, just come up with a reasonable sounding price for what you want that you know is lower than what Virgin quote on their site, and they may lower it for you.
