Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Wrist straps required. I'm out.

Metro (in their 8/10 review).....

We want to make it very plain that the score for this game is only valid if you’re going to be playing with other people multiple times. Otherwise, you’ll get two hours of entertainment out of the game and that’s literally it. The marketing so far hasn’t really made that clear and we would not under any circumstances recommend this game if you’re only playing on your own.

Poor form on the marketing not making that clear.

I did pick up the last WarioWare for relatively cheap as I'd never given the series a go before, and while it was fun a few hours is pretty much all I got out of it.

I love these games sooo much - I remember picking up the GBA game at launch and just about (but not quite) every single one since.

But I also know there is no way i'm ever going to play this with another person, so I can't possibly justify keep my streak going.

Nothing will ever beat the Wii game when that first released. Playing with mates after a few drinks was some of the funniest, most entertaining ridiculousness ever.

That's how I feel about the GameCube game. Probably my favourite local multiplayer game ever.

The problem with game journos is they don't often play games through to 100% completion. Warioware has typically always had a short story with harder challenges and more stuff to do in the post-game, with a long string of unlockables. Having only just started the post-game, it does seem like it might be the shortest game yet, but this game also seems to be a tenner cheaper than your typical Nintendo game.

As far as the game itself, it's pretty fun. Very clearly a direct sequel to Smooth Moves. A lot of clever microgames with fun 'forms' to execute. And of course the motion controls are more responsive than ever! My only gripe is that, while this is the case, ironically, the majority of microgames are very lenient. Sometimes you barely twitch a muscle and you beat the microgame before you even comprehend what you were meant to do. Doesn't happen often, but often enough. Maybe I was just a dumb kid, but the Wii installment seemed like it required much more precision to win.

The game in general is easier than ever. Now, whenever you lose all your lives in a stage, you can perform a second-chance stance to replenish your lives and resume where you left off. I can understand doing this in a time of hand holding and wanting to allow the player to just reach the credits if they so wish, but it's not just a second chance, it's a third, forth... well infinite chances. And the way WarioWare works is that, even if you lose a microgame, it's onto the next. So in theory, you can fail at every microgame. As long as you perform the second chance stances and beat the boss stages, you can reach the credits. Which is pretty nuts.

This isn't just for Move It, but I miss all the extra unlockables and collectibles you could get in past titles. Twisted and Touched are probably the best entries for having an extensive list of unlockables, minigames, quirky toys to mess around with, etc. WarioWare has always been favoured for its multiplayer fun, which is probably why the focus has shifted so heavily in that regard, but it used to be absolutely packed with single player content too. Would be nice to see it again some day.

Otherwise, thus far, really enjoying Move It. Looking forward to clearing up all the extra bits.
