Not really.

He's, at best, momentary correct. The sides back off. But there's nothing to suggest it'll last beyond the next day or two. Dr M even says as much as he leaves.

And that's ignoring Rorschach's book being sent to the "media" that could blow the whole thing.

You're misunderstanding the ending of Watchmen if you think it proves Ozzy correct.

Read my (edited) reply to you (Moggy) again. It's not about everything wrapping up, it's about how it was done.

And I think you're reaching with the Cyclops thing. The ep goes out of its way to suggest it's done and finished with, and you're extrapolating a continuation from nothing

This is exactly my point.

Nothing in the original is black and white, which is a reason I dislike the ending to the series. There is a clear right and wrong and right wins out unambiguously.

Again. Not really.

Cyclops members and racists still exists.

Dr M's powers might continue or might not.

They never explain WHY Lady Thieu has to be stopped? She might be a great Dr M and help the world. Ozzy says she shouldn't have the power if she wants it, but it's not really clear why she needs to be stopped. She's "wrong" because she's killing an established character, but nothing she does is "evil". There's no evidence "right" won in this. This could have stopped the a golden age. It's just as "ambiguous" if Ozzy did the right thing...just not spealt out as clearer.

So Ozzy is arrested? And? You've no idea what's going to happen when he gets taken in the senior people/governments get involved. They even mention that Redford's implicated and it's not going to be an easy mess to unravel.

I am not reaching, I am explaining that Cyclops could easily still be around. It existed in New York in the 30s, there’s nothing to suggest that the whole organisation relocated to Tulsa. The leadership was there, that doesn’t mean it is dead.

The heroes stopped Trieu, but they didn’t stop much else. The ambiguity extended to far more than just “does Sister Knight now have Manhatten’s powers”.

I enjoyed it and didn’t think it wrapped everything up, you mostly enjoyed it but thought it was too neat. We can disagree.

Ok, well I do respectfully disagree! I felt it was too neat and too unambiguously positive. Pretty much how I felt about the LOST ending, only this was obviously much better handled.

It's still one of the best seasons of TV in years, but wasn't quite as consistent as I'd have liked.

EDIT; I will try and reply in full when I'm not rushing to get a plane though!

There was a lot of Blue Penis in the last episode. On that we can all agree.

That was really good. One thing I seem to have missed though;what was the point of the bits with Hooded Justice being black mailed with the gay sex videos and him being the white guy?

It was a show within the show, parodying both the perception of the original hooded vigilantes in-universe and the modern, grimdark take on superheroes the original Watchmen comics inspired.

It also served to set up the character of Hooded Justice so the twist would hit harder

So Lindelof has distanced himself from this. Does that mean no second season?

While I would love more of this universe and these characters, it really doesn't need any more than the one season.

It had a story it wanted to tell and it executed it almost perfectly. Further seasons would just be carrying on for the sake of it (Or for the money).

Let it end on a high and move on.
