What’s the oddest gaming collectible or item you own! I’ve got a few random things - an 8-bit Link cushion that Lagamorph was good enough to pick up for me as a Secret Santa is one of my favourites. The undisputed champion though, is my neon “Nintendo GameCube” sign.

It comes complete with Japanese plug, and was bought on eBay for 1p (plus £10 postage) back in 2004. I’m hoping to finally be able to display it later in the week, so will post pics then.

So my question to you, GR, is: what is the weirdest gaming item you own?

I don't think I really own anything weird. Used to own plenty of pointless tat like an out of tune Ocarina of Time but all that stuff got binned a long time ago.

I’ve got a keychain in the shape of a hint coin from professor Layton

Unsure if it meets the weird criteria but I own the RE4 Gamecube Chainsaw controller.

I have a keychain of a Sackboy dressed as Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn somewhere. It was a pretty order reward I think.

Was that actually usable? Never looked like it’d be at all comfy to try and play with?

Anyhow, in answer to the op I really don’t own anything too weird I don’t think anyway.

I have a deck of cards from the Fable 3 collectors edition I got signed by the director at a guest lecture he gave at Sheffield Hallam University.

Although I did have this mentioned to me yesterday which I’m strangely tempted by and would probably class as slightly weird

I’d have to source the bricks for it myself though.

That is strawberry floating beautiful. How much is it worth now? Those things must be absolute gold dust - it’s hard enough to get a Rock Band 3 pro guitar!

I have so many pointless peripherals that I barely ever used. PS3 Chatpad - check. PS3 Wonderbook - check. PS3 Eye of Judgement - check. PS4 Aim Controller - check. If someone announces a new, more interesting way to play a game then I'm guaranteed to buy it (and never use it).

I sincerely hope he hasn’t opened it. Again, it’s worth big cash money nowadays.

I got it second hand so it was opened by the previous owner. If I can be bothered I'll nip into the loft and snap a picture or two.

Throughout the late 90s/early 00s, Gameplay always used to send out free gifts with every order (usually a demo disc or poster). And then there was this...

Image

Never been opened, but to this day I still don't really know what it's supposed to be. The front is made of soft plastic, and the back is soft foam - like a cleaning cloth.

Maybe it's just a really cheap keyring that would get dirty and then break within a week.

A Resident Evil 4 umbrella when I ordered RE4 from PlayAsia. I tried to find a pic but searching for RE4 and umbrella was unsuccessful, as you can imagine!

I used to have a Resident Evil 0 branded GameCube memory card that I got from pre ordering the game. I’ve long since traded it in.
