McLaren launch their 2009 car in 15 minutes.

In my experience, radio commentators are almost always better than TV ones. I really like Legard from what I've heard, too. So I'm hopeful!

I'll shoot Mr. BBC if they don't use The Chain.

And that Mclaren looks pretty sexy...

Looks like the McLaren is pushing the boundaries a bit more than the other cars so far.

I'm so pleased the cars actually look good again!

That Mclaren is lush. I don't know how they do it, but over the last 10 years they have always managed to come up with amazing designs.

I just hope this one stays reliable and they don't slip into old habits.

Sexy. But I'll always prefer their "MIKA" & "DAVID" days with the West logo.

The Toyota is the weak link, but even that looks decent enough! Just to get this straight, they have completely banned knobbly aerodynamic additions to the body, right? I hated those things.

Looks like the Macca has a curvey front body (look underneath), is that for fast straights or cornering?

It's to stop damage to the Ferrari they will land on top of at the end of the pit lane.

Also, i was wondering how long will it take a team to knock up a new front wing similar to Mclarens if it proves sucessful (or how long it will take mclaren to knock up a more conventional one if its gooseberry fool).

I think that the Ferrari could lose its nose a few times this coming season - look how far forward it protrudes!

BBC wrote:Ron Dennis is to step down as team principal of McLaren and hand over to current number two Martin Whitmarsh ahead of the new Formula One season.

Dennis, who has run McLaren since 1981, will stay on as chief executive of the McLaren Group of companies.

Whitmarsh will take over the running of McLaren's F1 operation on 1 March.

"It's time for Martin to take over. It is 100% my decision - this is a job he will embrace and from now most race-day decisions will be his," said Dennis.

"This is the right time for this decision. But don't see this as some sort of retirement because it is the exact opposite.

"The first thing I must do now is work harder and raise my game because we are a diverse company," added the 61-year-old, who will still attend races in the coming season.

Whitemarsh, 51, has been at McLaren since 1989, when he took over as head of operations.

And he said: "It doesn't feel like a bombshell to me - Ron has reached this point and I was keen for him to dictate a timeframe - but I certainly didn't push him.

"I've worked with Ron for 20 years and he has had an incredible career, but Formula One is changing and evolving and so is this business."

All three are a bit similar, but I can tell the difference on each one.

Ferrari - the front nose is lower than the McLaren's (you actually can see the nose is lower than the tyres).

Toyota - the front nose is shorter than both of them.

McLaren - looks a bit higher than Ferrari.

I dunno BOR, that Mac looks completely different to anything else I've seen so far this pre-season.

I tried to resize the images so the cars are all the same size, but it's not exact:

Edit: Sad to to see Ron go, but at least he went out after having a good year.

I'm sad to see Ron step back. He has been one of the old guard of F1 fighting against the crap that Mosley and Bernie have brought in.

Having said that, the guy is still a major shareholder in Mclaren so I still think he will be in overall charge for a while. I expect he will still be attending all the races.
