My birthday is in mid-October and I refuse to put the heating on until at least that point, it's like part of my annual ceremony! If it were just me at home I would probably wait until much later as I'm pretty comfortable in the cold but everyone else starts to moan at that point!

I'm pretty much a human radiator, so I never feel cold until around December. It's great.

It's been raining most of last night and today where I am, but it's still fairly mild. Absolutely no chance of the heating going on yet, that's usually November at the earliest.

When it's raining I have an excuse and it's also super relaxing listening to the rain on my balony/windows.
