While nowhere near on the same scale, pollen allergies can make summer pretty unpleasant too, especially when i was a teenager having to do exams while sneezing and with a constantly streaming nose and itchy eyes; all of which are caused by contact with the outside air during this time of year. The problem with it is that the "stop whinging and go outside" crowd are generally people who don't have and will never have said allergies so see them as some sort of personality flaw or just can't comprehend the idea that someone doesn't want to stand outside all day getting dehydrated drinking diuretics like lager (as in the drink) and getting skin cancer by burning to a crisp.

Maybe its my autismo brain, but i don't understand how just "being outside" is the end goal.

Yeah, it's like some people see not enjoying the heat as some sort of character flaw. And I can't win either. I'm viewed as being miserable for not enjoying the summer yet I make the slightest comment about preferring the cold or the winter and I'm accused of being miserable then too. But I'm not! I love the winter and it makes me happy how does looking forward to it make me miserable?

Anyway, for what it's worth, as much as I'm not a fan of the current weather I'm glad some of you guys are enjoying it!

42 is the highest temperature I've endured, was on holiday in Spain at the time and it was pretty much the same for the entire fortnight, I ended up with heatstroke at one point which is effing horrible.

I dread to think what the 49 degrees my parents frequently encountered when they lived in Saudi Arabia feels like.

It got to 45 in Melbourne when I lived there. You could only breath in through your nose sparingly as the air actually hurt when inhaled.

I'm honestly not sure how I'd cope being that hot.
I know it's a different kind of dry heat (I've been to Kenya and Italy so experienced some hot weather) but even so I just don't think my body is built for such hot weather for days on end. I'd at the minimum have a migraine of epic proportions as soon as I stepped outside in the sun and even staying inside would be really unpleasant for me.
I'd rather be in -45 than +45 as at least with cold it's pretty easy to deal with but other than living at the swimming pool for days on end (I technically could as I have a direct debit membership of the pool) I'm unsure what else I could do. I honestly think I'd have to call in sick from work for a start and if they demanded I go in I'd just have to quit as working at such high temperatures would be impossible for me.

I've been lying in a somewhat tepid bath pretty much ever since getting home. Slowly cooling me down along with itself. Bloody marvelous :datass:.

When I finally move, I'm going to Hambleton or one of towns surrounding the Rutland Water. Just sit outside and admire the view for days on end, do some watersport, and sit in one of the cafes to admire the view some more while sipping on a nice glass of lemonade.

Until then, I guess I'll just settle for walking through a park or two and relaxing under the shade of a tree.

Worst. nights. sleep. ever.

Not only was it unbearably hot but I've sprained my shoulder and that was adding to the misery with a continuous nagging toothache like pain.

I regret moving to elderly care. We're still on winter heating. Every radiator is on full and the mobile ones are closing the windows behind us. Am defo getting ice cream on expenses.
