It's like 4-5 degrees hotter near London compared to wales. You also likely have more of a breeze more often.

It's a different situation entirely.

You should move to Wales.

Not true. I genuinely like the cold & rain. Winter's great.

now im with you on Autumn - cold but crisp, beautiful sunshine and golden colours on the trees.
actual winter though, where its raining and cold and you cant stay dry and your shoes get damp - strawberry float off :x

Hey that's cool, different strokes. I love autumn through spring - leaves falling, darker nights, rain, wind, snow, then plants blooming again - but I hate summer. Rain in particular always makes me happy. There are inconveniences in winter of course, but I still like it.

But I've got nothing against people who like summer. :D

I thoroughly enjoyed the snowmageddon we got earlier in the year - was great having a movie day with the snow falling outside, having a roast for dinner and then trapping down to the pub later on in the evening and feeling the kind of community spirit of all the people who'd struggled down for a pint.

Of course the pub had to shut early because they'd ran out of stock and I had to walk to work because my car was out of service, but it was still great fun.

I have to admit that I dislike both hot and cold weather; I'm comfortable when the temperature is in the range 60f / 15c to 70f / 21c.

Definitely needed a long shower though when I got home.

Everyone knows European heat isn't as hot as British heat.
37°c here would be about 60 for you guys.

You should have suggested they have a naked Betazoid wedding just to see if they were nerdy enough to go with it.

Sounds like you need to move to Northern California.

Me too man although I'd probably go south, I honestly think I'd like hot weather all the time but around the 20-25 mark. Crisp, sunny winter days are lovely but for everyone one of them you get a weeks worth of it being freezing, wet and windy.

Nope. I never whinge about cooler weather or rain. The colder the better. I enjoy spring and autumn but love winter. The cold weather puts me in a great mood, I barely have to worry about my depression. Autumn, Spring and especially winter is when I do most of my hiking. In Japan I once hiked up a small mountain in the snow. Off the path it must have been about 4 feet deep. I had the whole hike to myself as well. It was amazing.

I don't begrudge anyone who enjoys the summer, I just wish people would understand the the heat affects people differently and sometimes in very negative ways. I just don't get the attitude of "Well I like summer so everyone must like summer." I get that a lot at work despite the fact it physically makes me ill and causes my depression to get worse. The answer? "Get out and make the most of it!"

Indeed, some people also don’t appear to be able to grasp that some houses and flats (I think Jawa’s might be but he doesn’t mention it much) are bloody roasting in the summer sun. My bedroom, bathroom and living room face west and get the sun right up until it sets so it doesn’t even begin to cool until the sun goes down. Not the end of the world in September but earlier in the summer it’s awful. It’s an old house that is just double brick thick walled with no cavity insulation. The sun just radiates through the walls with ease. I can’t do anything about it without spending thousands on external insulation. Also the stupid previous owners installed Windows with only two small openers. None even big enough to fit a 6 year old child through. We’ve slowly been replacing these windows one by one to allow more air to flow through. When I go round to my parents house I can’t believe how cool it is in comparison. It’s so frustrating in the warm weather. You could say it my choice to live here as I bought the house but I’m married and my wife makes the decisions in this house as she seems to get 2/3rds of every vote :?

In that sense, yes. Fields and blue-skies are also a lot nicer to behold than traffic jams, souped-up Vauxhall Corsas with dustbin exhausts and just the general rush, rush, rush of people. I do like a good, quiet, twisty B-Road that goes on for some time 8-)

I don't like sweating unless I'm exercising, so therefore I don't like it when the temperature reaches the point when I can be sitting in the living room with a sweat on.

I feel your pain, my bedroom and bathroom face west and i've spent the last few years trying various different ways to keep the worst of the heat out in the evenings.

Getting a bit better at it now thanks to opening the windows out back to allow better airflow, and using thermal curtains which stops the worst of the heat getting through.

Yeah, but it's kind of gross, isn't it. Who wants to sit back and suddenly feel their shirt stick to their sweaty back.

My only seat is my leather desk chair so I've been sticking to it all day. Awful.
