Luckily we have no dress code at work so it’s jeans and T-shirt (I hate shorts) and that this week, (normally I go with jeans and a shirt.

Days like today make me incredibly glad I don't have to commute by tube (improved on some lines, but not all, and insanely busy) or bus (pure hell). Trains are hit and miss, in my case Southern, depending on if you get new carriages or not (and it's pretty much pure luck, from what I can make out) and whether you have a seat.

Best way to travel is by boat up the Thames, but there's rarely any reason to do so unfortunately. Last time was from Greenwich to Westminster and it was bliss, as it also completely avoids the DLR. And there's a bar.

Beautiful drive in to work this morning, sun shining and not too hot yet! :datass:

Going to be strawberry floating roasting on the way home though - all the parking spaces are in sunlight pretty much all day so my car will just be getting hotter and hotter. Plus I have no air-con and my windows don't work either so I can't put them down. :dread:

I use the district line which has air conditioning but even then it can be hell in rush hour. Non- air conditioned tube lines in this heat :dread:

Air con at work, and got shorts in my bag for the commute home. Not too bad, but home is holding in heat too well now.

Anyone gone for the "putting your bed sheets in the fridge/freezer" option at night yet?

Shorts and T-Shirt at work, boss doesn't give a damn what we wear in the office.

Windows all open, doors propped open and fans in each corner. It's actually quite pleasant

Although it's very unreasonably hot out there, I wish I could embrace it rather than being stuck in this strawberry floating office. Summer doesn't last long and we don't get that many really nice warm days here. I much prefer this to bastard cold, that's for sure.

I suspect it's not that you did, but that you did it out in the open with everyone watching while running your tongue over your lips

I seriously don’t understand some people, my brother who despises this heat has chosen this day of all days to give his car a vacuum and wash. Told him chances are he’ll end up with swirl marks in his paintwork and he’ll come in moaning about the oppressive heat as he’s been complaining non stop since Tuesday (which despite it being hot doesn’t feel too bad at all really) so why bother? Obviously he hasn’t listened and is out there doing just that as I type :fp: thankfully I’ll be at work by the time he’s finished

Tell him that humans are bad for the environment in general, so he should go on a shooting spree.
