I left the house first thing to do a food shop. I'm not leaving the house for the rest of the day. I have the fan on, plenty of chilled drinks and I'm rotating bottles of water in the freezer. I've learned my lesson from yesterday. I want out to be sociable, ending up throwing up then having to go home with a migraine. Fun times.

I was at a barbecue yesterday. It was death.

And my handheld USB fan is broken.

The heat is crazy now. 33c / 91f in my flat's living room and sweat is pouring off me :dread:

Had a great day sunbathing in the back garden. Got caught up with a few books and had Radio 2 top 100 motown records on in the background. Wish it could be like this every day.

Yeah, we used to regularly get 30c+ during 90's summers so it's not really anything that new.

I was surprised to see that the previous record for an August bank holiday was only 28.something C so to increase to over 32 is quite a jump.

It does happen later in summer sometimes though, as a few years back we had a couple of days at 30c in october.

The fact it hasn't happened like that on the bank holiday was probably down to sheer chance.

Saying it’s dropped to around 24 here but it still feels boiling :dread:

Also the maximum expected temperature for tomorrow has shot up to 29 from 25, got a nice evening shift at work mind so hopefully by 9 it’ll have cooled off sufficiently

Where has this heatwave come from? 32°c today, strawberry floating unbearable :dread:

I think you need a a third which allows it go for a public vote. Then with a majority we can enact. 52% should do it with a clear mandate.
