Friday: going to the pub for a few pints
Saturday: a lot of work to catch up on unfortunately but hopefully will get some more time on Metal Gear Solid 5 in
Sunday: more work but will be putting up Christmas decorations in the evening and watch a Christmas movie to officially start the Christmas season-on 1st December, as it should be


Best weekend I ever had: my wedding of course but really the second May BH weekend in 2011 when the Swans gloriously obtained promotion to the PL

Currently sat on pub beside train station and I’ll update on greatest weekend.

Friday - backshift
Saturday - overtime 7-4, then work’s Christmas do
Sunday - recovery in the morning, essay marking for the other job after that.

Best weekend ever - tough one. Download 2013 was a cracker, as was TITP 2008 and 2009. Celtic winning the treble the second time when I got to go to the Scottish Cup Final was good, and my brother’s wedding was an all weekend affair in September this year that was genuinely brilliant(my own wedding was on a Monday so doesn’t count ).

Nowadays a really good weekend is one where the outside world doesn’t encroach on me as much as usual, or if I don’t have to work.

Today, putting Christmas decorations up outside, all up bar one set of lights that has decided to call it a day since being taken down last year, sadly the gutter set which is annoying as today was good conditions for going up a ladder.

Saturday, I’ll be watching F1 qualifying, probably play some more Pokémon Shield, try and get some more inspiration for Christmas shopping, currently done 1 out of 5 people, nearly got the 2nd finished as well.

Sunday, I’ll be watching the last F1 race of the season, probably more Pokémon, look for yet more inspiration for Christmas presents, then in the evening I think I’m going to a local Christmas lights switch on

Best weekend ever? Very easy for me, Silverstone 2018. First F1 race in person, wonderful weather as it was part of the heatwave that weekend (race day was wall to wall sunshine, pushing 30 degrees for most of the day), got a bit burnt but it was worth it, cracking race to top it off.

I don’t think taking photos of girls exercising in lycra for your personal collection counts as “volunteer” work just because you’re not getting paid, mate.

Best of both worlds

Friday: Tried to work, had a terrible headache, spent most of the day in bed
Sat: Private English lesson in the morning, literally gooseberry fool all planned this afternoon
Sunday: Off to the in-laws for our 6-monthly visit (and for my wife to tell them she's coming to mine for Xmas)

Best weekend ever: Bolivia, my holiday fling was leaving the big cat sanctuary we were working at. We took the weekend, travelled to the nearest town, got a hotel room and spent the whole weekend in bed.

Tidying my flat and starting Xmas Dec's tomorrow.

Taking my daughter to Paris for her 12th birthday. Seeing her wide eyed over the sights, sounds and wonder of the place.

I'm at a Royal Archaeological Society/Roman Society conference at UCL on the latest research into the frontier zone in Britain. It's been a bit of a gooseberry fool show so far. Really interesting papers but me and my friend have been completely sidelined and discouraged. Everyone is 60s+ and a white man and all attempts to make conversation or network have been shut down. We were firmly not invited to go with them after the reception finished (quite rudely tbh) so we went back to my friend's hotel room and drank a bottle of scotch and had a good old rant and that was the best bit so far. Consoling ourselves with the thought all these gatekeepers of Roman archaeology (all the big issues lol) will be dead after one bad winter. We can make our way.

Hopefully my best weekend is yet to come.
