What aspect of modern gaming annoys you the most? "Waiter, there's a fly in my soup!"

Anything to do with games at all.

Well that's annoying

For me it has to be the half assed, broken, unfinished game at a premium price that gets under my skin. Sure the likes of NMS may have grown into a more complete version of what Hello Games original claimed, but that initial launch with a £50 tag was taking the piss. And of course more recently we have those asshats at Bethesda pushing Fallout 76 out onto the shelves; probably sniggering as they know this empty, lazy, bullshit "game" will make them a tidy packet over the Christmas period even with the poor reception it's received.

So what does annoy you the most about modern gaming?

For me a lot of the time it's the fact stuff you'd usually get in the old days for completing a game or finding a secret box is now instead pay to unlock content.... Want to see Ryu or ken in a new costume or unlock a new challenger no you can't do it by completing the game silly, no you need to spend dollar dollar

The whole GaaS (Games as a Service) thing seems pointless. These games are almost unplayable at launch and if/when they're fixed pretty much all interest will have vanished.

Just give me polished games focused on single player, I'll happily pay more if the quality is there.

It's the only one that isn't.

In fact it's the only game by Microsoft that hasn't been awful this gen.

I disagree. I like that games like CoD have events and are constantly evolving. It keeps things fresh.

As for the OP, other than the two games mentioned what other games that are completely broken have been released lately? It used to be much more of a thing years ago and the broken game stayed broken forever.

My biggest gripe is Nintendo. I love the Switch and Mario and Zelda have once again been awesome but they are such an inept company. How is the no service yet offering all of Nintendo's classic games? At this point I'd probably buy the ones I previously but on the e store again. Arguably they haven't actually done anything different since the N64, it just depends on if the hardware is a success or not.

I think it has to be online griefers.

These come in a few different forms:

- Griefers who will have no interest in the game as such and have more interest in killing/interfering with other players.

- Smurfs who are people that are highly skilled at a game usually a ranked one and they make a second account so they're matched with low level players who they then destroy. This is prevalent in Halo 5 and Rocket League.

- Campers, I don't mind some camping and it works for folk in PUBG but personally, some of it is mental. I got killed in PUBG while searching an apartment complex, looting each floor and opened bathroom door to be shot by a goon. This guy not only avoided picking up all the loot around him, but closed all the doors he used and was probably sitting their for 15mins with his shotgun pointing at the door, what enjoyment has he gained, especially when the rest of my squad arrives and burns him to death with a molly. GG.

Also the biggest game on the planet is one.

State of Decay 2 was a mess. Sea of Thieves, while not broken, was a barren wasteland. Point is as a trend GaaS is growing into the accepted norm. Expect to see a lot more unfinished and/or broken games being the released with gamers becoming unpaid beta testers, but only after they've shelled out top dollar first.

Not to say GaaS hasn't worked for some games, but it's clearly a very convenient tool for publishers to push crap onto the market while still asking for a premium price.

People in Battlefield games who insist on shooting you when it's pretty obvious I'm going in for a knife fight :x .

Oh well done you've shotgunned me in the face after spinning about as I'm trying to run up to you for a nice manly knife fight :fp: . Does sportsmanship and honour mean nothing now :capnscotty: .

Also snipers can go and well and truly strawberry float themselves in all the holes they have available.

What annoys me most nowadays is the fact that to play all the top games, people are still expected to purchase three different consoles.

I for one would love to play Mario again, but there's not a chance in hell of me forking out a small fortune for a second console just so i can play a handful of exclusives.

I think it depends on your gaming habits. I'm predominantly an online player so I love Gaas stuff. Can't argue with SoT's, as I said myself, it was light on content, of course that's been massively rectified since but they shouldn't have released it when they did. I can't remember anything being too bad in State of Decay 2 at launch bar the co-op being borked. Nothing springs to mind anyway.

Rocket League, PUBG, Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4 are all awesome. SP focuses games as a portfolio are a must but I wouldn't discount GaaS being a bad thing.

Im guessing he means things like expecting devs to finish a game after theyve all been laid off.

I think he means this:

I think the hurt is the result of their ignorance of two facts:

1. That Sony saved gaming in 1995 with the original PlayStation and that, without it, there would now be nothing but Candy Crush Saga.

2. That PlayStation 4 IS for the players and that if you don't own one then you can't call yourself a player.
