How about an open world game set in space but with a steam punk aesthetic. You'll have to take your space craft around to different wrenched colonies and piece together what's happened to them and salvage parts keep your space craft going. You need some kind of moral system where you have to either save or murder little girls like the OG Bioshock. Also there should be some kind of dimension hopping part so you can visit the games previous games locations. The place you explore should be based on some kind of philosophy so how about Plato's republic so each location you visit would have been it's own city state with different interpretations on Republic.

The Little Sisters didn't really work in BS1 from a moral choice perspective (to kill a child or not to kill a child isn't really a deep moral quandary). I can't imagine them being even slightly acceptable now.

I still find the attempt at a moral quandary in infinity worse, the freedom fighter who's been enslaved is a bit of a dick and wants to kill you, she's totally the same as the bloke who was literally enslaving everyone.

I can sort of understand the Bioshock one thing, because it was sort of setup as kill the little sisters or struggle through the entire game and fail your quest to stop the evil man. Even though in hindsight it didn't actually make anything, anymore difficult.

I'd prefer metroidvania to open world for a Bioshock world if they were going to do away with a linear stucture.

Ok hub world with metroid style and a proper moral choice that doesn't involve killing kids. I'll write to 2k.
