I don't often need cheering up but when I do I pop Seinfeld on. George Costanza's life is so pathetic that you can't help but laugh.

At first I usually listen to some depressing, yet uplifting music so I don't feel it's just me. Then I move on to the rational stage, in which I consider the situation covering every aspect, including likely outcomes and how best to deal with each one. If I get my concentration into it and treat it as a problem to be solved I become less attached. Usually it turns out it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought anyway.

I watch Gintama or eat crisps. I never eat crisps apart from when I'm down but it's a failed attempt at cheering you up as it's just something to do to delay that final breakdown. So watching Gintama and playing a game which more than two shades of brown. Or features lots of missiles and robots.

 Good one! :D

Personally, I think if you're miffed, irked, peeved, grumpy, sullen, ad nauseum, you should be allowed to wallow in it for a time. And when you're ready to brighten up stick on some comedy, like Chigbeeze said.
