I really struggle with the "what do you want for Christmas?" question for some reason. Back in the days of being a kid I would have loads of ideas - circling gooseberry fool in the Argos book of dreams months in advance of the big day, writing out lists of what I would like etc. (not with the expectation of getting most of it mind!)

It is generally harder to think of stuff you want as you grow older I guess - Christmas as a secular "gift giving" event is a pretty youth focused affair these days, and that is part of why I struggle. But also these days I just seem to draw a blank, even if there are bits and bobs that I know I would need or like to open on the day I just seem to forget what they are when people ask me near Christmas. Then some time in January I'll remember a bunch of things and think "gooseberry fool I should have asked for that for Christmas!"

Money's tight so me and the missus are spending £10 each on each other.

All the money is going towards my wee one's christmas

In answer to the question, a Nintendo Switch.

Just ask for things you can eat or drink, that's been my approach with family this year when they've asked for ideas.

Yeah that's usually been my fallback option, and it works pretty well for the most part.

Although since basically quitting drinking over the last couple of years it does mean that the options are more limited - asking someone for a 24 pack of Pepsi Max for Christmas doesn't work quite as well as saying you'd like a nice bottle of wine or something!

I can't think of any non-alcoholic drinks that seem acceptable to give as gifts. Unless you count, like, fancy tea/coffee/hot chocolate.

Yeah, the fact that I don't drink tea or coffee probably isn't helping either!

Hot chocolate is a pretty good shout though, you can get some decent "artisan" stuff that would certainly tick the right boxes for feeling worthy of calling a gift.

Failing that I'd just ask for strawberry float loads of cheese because you can never have too much cheese at Christmas!

I think we've identified a gap in the market: giftable drinks for teetotal tea-immotile hot chocolate abstainer coffee refrainers

I would like a house in Bavaria (with easy transport links to Munich) a villa in Florida (with pool, in the Davenport area), a maxed out Mac Pro with the best screen and stand and a Bentley Continental GT, I’m not greedy so don’t expect everything on my list, but 2 or 3 would be great, thanks in advance

You can buy really fancy looking non-alcholic spirits nowadays.
Still just as expensive though.. £25 for a juniper flavoured syrup water doesn't sit well with me.
