What is the angriest a videogame has ever made you?

For me, it was definitely playing FIFA online in Seasons mode. I'm more chilled now but 6-7 years ago, losing a game to some last minute bullshit was infuriating, and at one point I broke a controller in anger. Took a break after that.

Once kicked a hole in my bedroom wall whilst playing PES4.

FIFA is a contender for me, to the point where I retired from multiplayer a few years ago because I was getting so frustrated at how gooseberry fool I was at it. There’s only so many losses a man can take!

In terms of single player, some of the checkpoints in older Halo games has really gotten to me before. Trying to beat the bastarding Mizar in Jet Force Gemini nearly cost me a TV. Battletoads’ Rat Race level is a contender as well. I simply can’t do it, and it’s the last thing standing between me and full completion of Rare Replay. Horrendously frustrating.

I remember Dead Rising on Xbox 360 had a really stupid save system that led to me losing about 8 hours of play. Never went back to it after that. Was furious that it had wasted my teenage time.

The save system is simply that it didn’t have auto-save, and I’d to go to one of the bathrooms to save the game. It also allowed you to keep all your level progress if you died and had to restart. Won’t hear a bad word about DR. :wub:

The problem was that I thought I had saved! This wasn't the beginning 8 hours of the game, it was a solid half way through! Can't remember what happened, but strawberry float that game. Also strawberry float any action games without autosaves as default :slol:

When the protag in Bully was taking gooseberry fool from the bully. I couldn't stand it and stopped playing. A similar sort of situation made me stop playing RDR2.

FIFA online season for me too. Not only losing to lag and bizarre goals but for the players who call their teams 'Child Abuse FC' and 'Rapists United'. How on earth they could get away with it was crazy. I stopped playing FIFA about 4 years ago because I realized It was the only game I raged at. I can get destroyed in Battle Royales and online shooters and I don't get angry, midly annoyed yes but not Angry.

Only game I rage at is Rocket League and it's short lived cos the matches are so short. I can't get myself out of gold because I can't carry a team on my own...

Probably International Superstar Soccer Pro on PS1, or one of the early Pro Evo games. I remember having a very dead leg by the end of some of the play sessions.....

Fifa is normal a game that used to make me mad. Especially the days when you used to have endless shots saved only for the ai to have one shot on goal and score.

There have been a few buggy games like Jax2 that have made me made because of stupid parts of the game and then there was Call of Duty 2 on Veteran, which was just difficult but it was my fault for choosing to play on that setting.

Sekiro. Such a good game but beyond my skill level.

This will sound really stupid but as a kid if a game was pissing me off I used to threaten to trade it in if it didn't stop :fp:

The worst thing I ever did though was put a dent in a door playing Yakuza Zero. You can train with this guy called the punch out artist, you have to dodge his attacks for a 60 seconds to unlock some new techniques. I was really struggling with it and kept failing miserably but then suddenly I was in the zone and dodging like a boss, I was gonna do it this time I could just tell... nope got tagged at about 59.8 seconds. I was strawberry floating raging!

Tomb Raider III drove me absolutely nuts. The most masochistic third-person game I have EVER played, blatantly designed just to sell their guide book. And to all the arseholes that complained about Tomb Raider 2 being too easy because it allowed you to save anywhere, strawberry float YOU 22 years later.

A number of missions in GTA San Andreas were diabolical. A relatively early one I recall is where you had to chase after bikers on a dirt bike of your own while avoiding trains.

Jak II was really horrendous, while committing the biggest sin of all - making you traipse through a boring as hell hub city just to get to the mission again - and I’ve passionately hated the game ever since.

The fact I really wanted to see these games through (whether it was the various locations of TR3 or Las Vegas in SA) only pissed me off even more.

F1 99-02

I was playing at my desk with my old sidewinder (context) wheel, and in was trying to claw back a decent position at suzuka in a half length race. I was properly in the zone and this was srs bsns, when my mum walked in and just started talking to me as I got the double right hander going under the bridge. I went off and went face first in to a wall. I smacked the wheel with my palm and went FUUCK. My mum went nuts. I was 19 for strawberry float sake :lol:

I got to the final race with my friend sitting next to me. I kept falling off the track and every time I did, he'd turn and look straight at me with a :simper:

expression. The 10th time he did it I lost my gooseberry fool and shouted at him to get out of my house :lol:

The final.race was an oval type track and you had to race perfectly and slipstream everyone. One mistake and it was game over. After a whole day of messing it up, I proclaimed I was going to write to Namco to complain :lol:

I was 28 years old.
