Jesus, I gave it about 3 hours and got so bored I couldn't bring myself to carry on. It was just so... dull.

Horror's like humour though, different people find totally different things work for them.

Im really not good with 'scary' games. I get really immersed end up an emotional wreck.

The last time I made a really determined response to finish one was with Condemned and I got to a point where I literally couldnt handle any more. I later found out I was on the last level, but never went back.

Pretty much the same here. Plus if something can project a scary atmosphere using sound, subtle sights and the implication of horror, my mind feels in the blanks. And it turns out that my mind is seriously strawberry floated up.

Its the same reason I generally prefer/get more scared by eastern or increasingly Spanish horror films to American ones.

Never, ever play Amnesia. I gave that about an hour (in short, 10 minute bursts) before I gave up for good. It's horrifying, and nothing had actually happened by the time I turned it off; it's all freaky music, sounds and odd UI effects. It's still there on my desktop, taunting me.

I tried Amnesia in order to challenge myself. I made it as far as the water where I was stood on a crate, sobbing as an invisible man tried to rape me.

i played it up till the submarine on the side of a mountain.

the combat system just ruined it for me, and he's no lara.

But if you only played up to the sub, you barely experienced any combat, let alone any of the great puzzle/platform moments.

that was enough for me, i couldn't get into it.

Actually that isn't a glitch. You must have stumbled into the area where some mage has turned the town inhabitants and surrounding wildlife invisible. The quest is to undo the spell and make the townspeople visible again.

I stopped playing the Halo 3 campaign before the end of the first level. It was just so boring I couldn't face any more of it.

I gave Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction half an hour before I decided I hated it even more than Spurs.

Really? I thought the first level was pretty good. It was the endgame that really disappointed, including The Level Which Shall Not Be Named, which is still the worst in the entire franchise. And, yes, that includes The Arbiter "level" in Halo 2.

Not knowing if someone else has replied to this. Them 'invisible' monsters are part of a very small side quest reasonably near the imperial city, you were very unlucky to stumble upon them straight away!

Couldn't you just avoid them?

Have you played Far Cry 2?

Clearly not.

Defo. The respawning is chronic, man.

I have played Far Cry 2 on the most difficult setting at that, with relative ease of course. The game requires patience and meticulous planning to get through, if you enjoy the combat it's a wonderful and rewarding experience.

And yes you can avoid the bulk of a checkpoint, if you can't manage that then I recommend you retire from gaming.

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg got about 5 minutes from me. What a strawberry floating awful game. There was just no hook, whatsoever.

I didn't give Madworld a whole lot of playtime. First game in years that had me hoping no one would catch me playing it as it was embarassing. Switched if off and loaded up Klonoa.
