Make a proper go of giving up smoking.
No more than 3 cups of coffee per day.
Stop sleeping so erratically.

This is pretty much my ideal. But given I'm on nightshift for the first two weeks, sleeping erratically, drinking too much coffee and smoking to pass time, I won't even bother with it. Though I have just ordered two books to read in the hours of dullness watching people sleep.

Gonna try and give it a proper go this year.

So...

1 - Quit smoking. An actual, proper attempt where I don't give in at the first hint of a hurdle.
2 - Get a better paying job
3 - Spend more time with the gf
4 - Try to get to bed at a reasonable time and cut back on stupidly late wake up times on my days off.

It's gonna be hard. :?

This, but a year older! People need to get off my back on this, if it was essential to my lifestyle I'd have done it by now.

I learned when I was 23. No interest before that. My brother, 35, still hasn't learned. He lives in London, where the buses are good, by all accounts.

I lived in London long enough, and now I'm surrounded by fairly good transport and everything at my door. I only want the licence mind. Would help with work and I could just hire a car or join one of the "by the hour" clubs. I spend barely any money on travel as it is, that I couldn't justify getting a car and paying excessively for petrol, insurance and maintenance.

In which case, define healthy. It's no good having some vague idea to cling onto, what's the goal?

Same question applies to career.

The two are mutually exclusive, though, so might be a bit of a problem. I lost over 3st in the last 6 months of this year by just eating less - no exercise involved at all. I didn't want to drive my appetite up, after all. Still, whatever works for you.

I'm aware of that. But I want to both lose weight and improve my overall fitness, so both will be required.

I've gone part time at work recently to focus on music and a lot of what I do now just involves sitting at my laptop. I've felt my fitness decline due to moving a lot less. Not gonna get that back by not eating as much.

My New Years Resolution last year was to watch an episode of Frasier everyday (I own the ultimate collection DVD boxset you see) which I managed to pull off. Even surprised myself!

For this year its slightly less interesting.

- Floss every evening as opposed to every three days + or so.

- Work harder on my PhD, spending evening reading/writing as opposed to getting home and sleeping.

Both doable.

It's not really that essential if you live in a city.

I'm gonna try and go to the gym more. I say this every year, it never happens. My membership is lagging. I'm going to start putting in for other jobs again, kinda gave up around October 13, but I need out of my current role. It is driving me insane for a multitude of reasons.
