If you're not sure, the correct answer is Rubber Soul. 8-)

The one where they confess to killing Paul McCartney.

Jokes - I don't really like the Beatles.

Isn't that a John Lennon single "how do you sleep."

Also I say the white album.

I don't like any of them.

I get they were really influential but they simply aren't to my tastes, now Led Zeppelin on the other hand, I could listen to them all day.

The state of this thread. :dread:

I love early Beatles singles, but the albums aren't quite the full package, save for possibly A Hard Days Night. The crown jewel of Beatles albums is Revolver, closely followed by Sgt Peppers. After that they disappeared a bit too much up their own arses for my liking.

Definitely between Revolver and Rubber Soul, but I think Rubber Soul just edges it for me.

The poll is quite interesting, nobody choosing an album pre Rubber Soul so far. I suppose beat band Beatles weren't really close to the longstanding icons they went on to become, despite their success at the time.

Depends on what mood I'm in as to what I think the best is.

Gone for Abbey Road, but it could just as easily have been Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's or The White Album. Sometimes even Help!

I know it wasn't originally released here as an LP, but Magical Mystery Tour really ought to be on the list too.

I want to go for something like Revolver or Rubber Soul (The Beatles at their most melodious and commercial, imo), but my head tells me to vote for The White Album. It does contain my favourite Beatles track 'Long, Long, Long' (G. Harrison), and McCartney's 'Martha, My Dear' is exquisite. It's very difficult. The entire Beatles back catalogue is a treasure trove of riches. I wouldn't want to be without any of them.

They've always been a 'pick and choose' band when it comes to their tracks from all their albums. Funnily enough, Alan Partridge wasn't a million miles away with his album suggestion.

For all their great tunes, smattered indiscriminately from their first till their last album, I've always found them a bit of an anomaly in that way.

White album. A bit hit and miss but much of it is utterly brilliant.

Not sure which one is the best but I've always had a soft spot for Sgt Pepper. The music is great and the artwork on the gatefold LP is just lush.

+1 for revolver. Easily their best pop album
Could have picked white album or abbey road on another day, depends what mood I'm in.

No love for Help? It's much better than rubber soul

Probably Revolver or Abbey Road

It's been a long time since I listened to them all though. Most people seem to grow out of The Beatles fairly quickly.

Revolver. Where's Magical Mystery Tour? That's one of my favourites of theirs.
