At this point in proceedings price is not really the deciding factor for me, even if it launches at a ridiculously low price of say £300 I don't think I'm going to bite because there just don't appear to be any games making it worth jumping into at launch

This. Launch titles are always high cost on too of the console & sometimes they can be hit & miss.

I’d be tempted at £350-400 but then adding games maybe an extra controller it jumps instantly to £550-600.

£400 is the limit for me, I think, for either console.

If the PS5 is around £350 or Series S around £250 I'll probably get one of them at launch, but I think the former is looking very unlikely. But forget spending over £400 on a console.

Is everyone who is willing to pay 500+ expecting to get a game or 2 included in that or are you adding another £100 for software?

I think £500 is the cut-off for me. Any more than that and I'd probably look at getting a new gaming PC next year - especially with MS committing to Game Pass and simultaneous release first-party titles.

Obviously neither has actually confirmed the line ups yet (or so I believe?) but given what we know won't be there and what we can assume will be I genuinely don't know what I would play at launch right now, nothing that is left excites me at all

In terms of PS5, not even factoring in the headset, additional controller, 2 games or remote control. Would be an easy £800, I reckon. More if I were to add the charging dock to that too.

WHAT A DISASTER.

Shouldn't need to with Game Pass.

I don't know what that is. I presume it's a subscription service.

What exclusives are there at launch on the Series X?

Costs will be high, but as they are bc you can always sell on your pro/ one x for £200 odd and accessories like the headset and buy the ps5 one. This should lead to a net spend of around £500 at launch, which isn’t bad when you consider the tech in the ps5.

That hasn't been announced yet.

The Medium is scheduled for November, Gears Tactics and Scorn are 'holiday 2020'. All 3 are on Gamepass, I expect The Medium at least at launch (you can pre-order The Medium digitally on Xbox One right now - it says only compatible with Series X)

Officially nothing has been announced but I expect all 3 might make it day 1 and maybe something else 3rd party Plus upgrades on GP Day One.

So Far:
Destiny 2 and all it's expansions hit 4K/60fps
Forza Horizon 4 4K/60fps
Gears 5 4K(+Same settings as PC Ultra)/60fps - MP 120fps
Sea of Thieves (no detail on what upgrade is but I suspect its 4K/60)
Ori 2 - 4K/120fps

All back compat games now feature HDR also (OGXbox/360/X1), specific upgrades in resolutions and doubling of framerates on top of that is not known yet.

All in all there's a lot of stuff to play Day 1 imo.

And lose PT? I think not!

(Backwards compatibility still hasn't been fully explained right? They've said it will be "most" PS4 games - I want to know if all the games I own for PS4 will be. And what about PS2 games on PS4?)

I'd be willing to pay up to 500 for a PS5 probably, but that's not a day one purchase for me anyway. Like with the PS4, the two games that will push it for me are the next Tekken and the next Monster Hunter, neither of which is coming that soon since the two current versions have about a year left in terms of their live service gooseberry fool.

So it's going launch with a load of games (maybe?) you can already play? What a load of rubbish.

Not much that you can't already play though.

They've obviously messed up with Halo but I think there's obviously been some impact from Covid on development.

I was answering a question about Gamepass. There's a good few multiplats about too, which should run better on Series X also.

It's obviously disappointing that there aren't any big system sellers due on day one, but no-one ever complains when these 'mid generation upgrades' come out with no new games to play. There are going to be massive improvements everywhere else.

The Medium, Scorn, Gears Tactics all on Gamepass, the best console versions of Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla seems ok to me. I still play Sea of Thieves and Gears 5 regularly and already mentioned in Destiny 2's thread that ill be back on board when it hits Gamepass next month but apparently I can't enjoy them with better resolution and framerates because of reasons...
