I thought it'd be interesting to see how covid-19 is effecting people's work status.

I'm a freelancer who has lost their one client so I guess laid off? The work will return when the client comes back off furlough though.

Working from home myself. Not a super key industry but we provide some decent-ish support for vulnerable people in London so we're at least useful to some people at the moment.

Does anyone else have a sense of guilt from all of this?

I'm personally having a great time. But many other people are suffering so much. It seems wrong and unfair that I can remain so comfortable.

Feels similar to the middle-class-straight-white-male-guilt I already had.

I know exactly what you mean.

I'm still working in a key industry and the office has been split between the main site and the disaster recovery site. The DSR is just down the road from me and it's been wonderful only having a 15-20 minute commute. On top of that we've only had to go in for operational shifts with everything else we've been allowed to stay at home. With shorter commute and break from shift work with the time off I've slept so much better which is great but yeah I do feel guilty for feeling like this.

Still going to work, although it’s all very unpredictable and more emergency planning that normal - I work in NHS Property in Scotland so not patient facing, although I do end up visiting lots of hospitals and sites.

What’s interesting is the increasing wearing of casual clothes at work - which is quite nice.

Key worker, somehow, and working from home. They only got me a laptop on Tuesday though so I was off for the best part of a month, paid, because of the lack of organisation. I’m in the same boat as Ob Bob in that I’ve had a pretty easy time while the country has gone to hell. :(

I am self employed and since this has happened my turnover has over tripled, the supply chain is slower but we have good stocks to cope, the only thing I am not that happy is about is that we (I say “we” I had my objections) have imported large quantities of face masks and have sold hundreds in one day and it feels wrong taking advantage of the situation
