BBC News wrote:Experts are warning about the risks of extreme fussy eating after a teenager developed permanent sight loss after living on a diet of chips and crisps.

Eye doctors in Bristol cared for the 17-year-old after his vision had deteriorated to the point of blindness.

Since leaving primary school, the teen had been eating only French fries, Pringles and white bread, as well as an occasional slice of ham or a sausage.

Tests revealed he had severe vitamin deficiencies and malnutrition damage.

I mean, Jesus Christ, what an idiot. His parents should be sent to the gulag - the easiest way to stop your kids eating crap is to stop buying crap.

So, fellow forumites - how close to chip-blindness are you?

My eyesight is perfect.

My diet is gluten free and carb free (the latter as much as reasonably possible), but I do occasionally allow myself a cheat day.

I'm trying to do a Mediterranean diet at the moment but it's hard as I don't like fruit much and find it difficult to eat all the fresh food I buy. I basically buy food for just me and it's hard to eat all of it before it goes off. Life is not for me.

No not at all. I do think that I have a character flaw where I have very little time for fussy eaters. People who do things like taking salad off their burger or can't stand basic ingredients like onions or mushrooms.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

My girlfriend is very much like this. Absolute pain in the neck trying to cook for her.

I’m not at all fussy. There’s not many foods I don’t enjoy in some form. I’m struggling to think of something I would say I definitely dislike.

Same. Honestly, fussy eaters are the worst. Like, grow up already.

Here is a list of things I dislike eating: bell peppers, cucumber, courgettes, red cabbage, aubergines, cheese except on pizzas, mayonnaise, mustard, any form of pickle, kale, coriander, mashed potato, sweet potato, tofu, quorn, any offal, cold meat, pork pie, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, olives, capers, all nut types, currants, custard, fruit cake, Christmas pudding, Marmite, battered fish, sushi, vinegar, salad dressing, squashes, sweetcorn, peas...

Also scallops make my tummy funny and I consciously try not to eat beef. I’d say I’m pretty picky, yes. Amazingly I’m getting better!

My partner's been using a lot more veggie options when she cooks recently. Tofu stir-fry, paneer curry, chilli con quorn, things like that. It's been good, I thought cutting down on meat would bother me but it hasn't really.

Thing is, some people just don't like certain foods, it's not being 'a fussy eater' it's eating what you enjoy.
