Listening to my brother order a cheeseburger a few weeks ago almost gave me an aneurysm.

"Can I have a cheeseburger without lettuce or tomato or onion or sauce?"

I’m an incredibly unfussy eater. There are only two foods I absolutely won’t eat, olives and mushrooms. I’m not keen on a few things but almost anything else is fair game.

My eyesight however is terrible. I have worn glasses since I was 11 (I’m 35 now) and my eyesight is been getting worse ever since.

I have so little patience for fussy eaters it's made me think that I have my own problems though. I daydreamed about opening a restaurant/fast food place that doesn't offer any substitutions. I then googled about and saw in America there's several chefs who refuse to make changes to dishes. Those men and women are my heroes.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I don't like mushrooms but if they're chopped and mixed into things then i am not fussed also not a fan of salmon but did try it again this last Saturday but still not a fan.

I do find it odd that people won't try things as there is so much great food to be had.

I'm not fussy and will eat almost anything (I don't particularly like salad though as it just water that you eat and has about as much flavour :x . ) except liver which I refuse to eat because I was forced to eat it at primary school and now I have a grudge against it.
On the very few occasions I do go out for something to eat I usually order something I've never had before so I'm not scared to be adventurous.

I think the only thing I'll refuse to eat is hot chilly and medium is my top limit there otherwise I'm fine with snails or horse meat or anything odd on a tapas menu.

I do think that anyone who says they don't like cake should all be sent to a re-education camp as there must be something horribly wrong with them.

Balladeer wrote:Here is a much-abridged list of things I dislike eating: peppers, cucumber, courgettes, red cabbage, aubergines, cheese except on pizzas, mayonnaise, mustard, any form of pickle, kale, coriander, mashed potato, sweet potato, tofu, quorn, any offal, cold meat, pork pie, mackerel, anchovies, sardines, olives, capers, all nut types, currants, custard, fruit cake, Christmas pudding...

Also scallops make my tummy funny and I consciously try not to eat beef. I’d say I’m pretty picky, yes. Amazingly I’m getting better!

I thought I was a fussy eater then looked at the above list and realised that I only dislike fruit cake but would probably still eat it if offered to appear polite and I can't eat quorn as it makes me vomit. So maybe I'm not a fussy eater after all.

I love pretty much all the food. 8-)

I would hate it if I didn't like lots of things and had to be a fussy eater.

Well now. Liver.

I was with you on this until about a month ago. Likewise ate it at school and hated it - the flavour, the texture, everything.

And then, I forced myself to buy and cook some properly. Soaked in some milk for a while, dusted in flour and then lightly fried. And my word it was amazing. Honestly couldn't believe I hadn't eaten it in all those years.

I think it's interesting the things you eat as an adult that you couldn't stand as a kid. I also don't think I could go out with someone who was a fussy eater, as eating together is one of the great joys of life

The only things I won't eat are frogs legs and snails.

The food I really don't like (but will still eat if hungry) is any kind of prawn/shrimp/lobster. Crabs are great though.

Probably won't unless he changes his diet.

Ironically despite my fussy status I have eaten both of these relatively happily. Can’t say I enjoyed snails, bit rubbery, but they were drowned in garlic butter. The frog’s legs on the other hand were in calvados cream sauce and were nice, just a pain to get the relatively small amount of meat off the bones.

Foods I dont like:
Celery
Marmite

Other than that, get in my belly. I cant stand fussy eaters, I couldnt imagine having a list of things to avoid when sitting down to read a menu or plan something for dinner. Life is a rich tapestry, try a bunch of it.

I'm a pretty fussy eater and is good to know I'm right to be so self-conscious about it even though I'm the only person it affects.

Solidarity comrade. I think that given this completely unjustified hatred from some forumites we need to post a lot more about what we won’t eat. You know, to, er, help them get over it.

What is a fussy eater? I don't like a lot, but, if I haven't had it I am willing to try it. Am I fussy because I don't like loads of foods or am I not fussy because I will try pretty much anything once.
