What's your favourite Star Wars movie? of the Skywalker Saga

Star Wars season. The other threads do a good job at summing up people's various thoughts on the new movie but this thread will show what the most liked movie is. I know it might be difficult to pick an absolute favourite but if you had to what would you choose?

And in the comments post the 9 movies in order of your favourites. For me, Empire Strikes Back is objectively the best in the saga but I prefer Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi and Rise of Skywalker more than it.

Only talking about the official Skywalker Saga. The Holiday Special and the Clone Wars don't count.

If you're going to start another star wars thread. Starting it with that opinion is mind boggling.

Empire Strikes Back was always my favourite with A New Hope a close second. If we could include spinoffs I'd put Rogue One up there too, it certainly pisses over the terrible Prequel Trilogy and is the most consistently good of the newest bunch.

The first one > the other two from the original trilogy even though I can't remember which is which > the first of the new trilogy > the prequels > haven't watched the latest 2 yet

I’ve not seen Rise of Skywalker yet but of the ones I have seen Return of the Jedi has always been my favourite.

Haven't seen Rise yet so no idea where that will land...

I'm a sucker for movies that complete character arcs and I watched the Prequels first so Revenge of the Sith is my favourite.
Glad to see ESB getting the love it deserves though. It's fundamentally the best movie in the saga, just not my "favourite".

ESB > ANH > ROJ > R1 > TFA > Solo > TLJ >TPM > AOC > ROS

Haven’t seen Rise of Skywalker and likely won’t be for awhile.

ESB has better craftsmanship but ... from my point of view ... Revenge of the Sith is my favourite. It really depends on what you're looking for in a movie. ESB doesn't really conclude any character arcs, and I like conclusions.

It's like how Infinity War is objectively the better movie but I prefer Endgame.

I mean I hate Star Wars anyway but Revenge of the Sith was an absolute dog's dinner! I'll grant you it's better than the other prequels but surely that's about as good as it gets. I haven't seen any of these new films.

Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope are good films, the rest are fun but flawed, apart from Attack of the Clones which is no fun whatsoever.

There's far too many spinoffs, standalones and animated movies :lol:

Haven't seen any of the recent trilogy and spinoffs other than Force Awakens which I didn't particularly like and the prequel trilogy are all terrible.

That leaves the original trilogy and of those I'd say RotJ is my favourite.
