...'clean' up your PC first? As in, delete programs, organise files, change your background etc. as a way of putting off the eventual real work?

I know I do. This is a very interesting thread and I expect equally interesting responses.

No, but I do do it in a very specific order.

Bedroom - Hall - Bathroom - Spare room - Living room - Kitchen - Hoover

I think you'll all agree this is both very organised and fascinating.

Kitchen, Lounge, Bathroom, then kind of 'hoover' my room and the hallway. It has carpet upstairs so I can get away with doing it for a while.

It so does count! o/

Looking at a cluttered desktop or a cluttered system really makes my room feel untidy!

Usually I clean them both around the same time , but I wouldnt use one as an excuse not to clean the other.

Run hot water and soak glasses - clean kitchen sides and table - wash glasses and soak plates - sweep kitchen floor - wash plates and soak cutlery - tidy up living room - wash cutlery, change water and soak saucepans - hoover downstairs - wash saucepans and clean sink - put loose clothes away - tidy bathroom - hoover upstairs - rest.

Doing one room at a time isnt very productive when you can do other jobs in between washing pots and letting them soak for a bit.

Dude! Get a dishwasher!

I live by myself, but the amount of washing up I found myself doing, a dishwasher was one of the first things I bought.

If I was forced to choose only one, I think I'd choose to keep my Dishwasher over my 360/PS3.

My Philippino Houseboy, Eduardo, does all the housekeeping chores, when he not cooking, washing the clothes or simply lying naked and fully-oiled before an open fire.

I normally clean the PC file system first then tidy the room. Ideally I just sprinkle shake and vac everywhere and give it a few hours "to settle".

Washing up=waste of life.

Just imagine if we were all still doing clothes washing by hand! Get with the times!
