Where do you get your shoes? How much do you pay?

I'm usually amazed at how much decent shoes cost, meaning I don't get them and end up with crap ones. :x But this needs to change.

I'm fortunate that there's no dress code where I work so I'm not talking about smart shoes or suit shoes; more your everyday comfortable pairs, trainers, that kind of thing.

Burton, Topman and Next all only usually do smart shoes and the casual shoes they sell are often dire and not at all comfortable.
Supermarket clothing retailers only seem to sell cheaply made shoes.
Shoezone and Primark are both :dread: for quality.
And JD are £££

So where do you lot procure your footwear? How much is too much for a decent set of shoes?

I really dislike buying new shoes or trainers; my feet must be oddly-shaped because it always takes me weeks - and a ton of plasters - to wear them in.

I look for cheaper options nowdays; for shoes I'll wait for a sale in M&S (paying around £50) and for trainers I tend to get Hi-Tec and the like from discount stores (paying around £35).

Trainers I usually get from Sole Trader or Schuh. I'm not particularly choosy so will usually find something in a sale.
M&S are good for smart shoes but like Jawa says, wait for a sale.
I'm lucky that we live near an outlet village thing so there are usually deals to be found.

If I'm buying on the high street then it's usually TK Maxx or Sports Direct because I'm a classy dude. But these days I tend to just buy from Amazon because I know what I like and what size I need so can't be arsed traipsing round shops trying stuff on.

Work shoes I tend to keep for ages, can't even remember how long I've had my current ones but I think they were from River Island.

I tend to dip between the the two extremes. Got a pair of boots from Schuh 2 years ago for £150 and they're still going strong. For trainers I'll buy a pair from Primark, £15 or so, every 6-8 months. They look fine and generally fit well so what do I care?

I usually go to Skechers and spend about £50 or thereabouts, though I did find some in Costco for about £30. I've probably bought formal shoes once in the last decade, and they were from Next if memory serves.

I have one pair of trainers. I have Sketchers right now. Can't remember the exact name, but, I find them real comfy. The inner sole is very nice.

For work I buy trainers from George of Asda. They're cheap, comfortable and last long enough.

Branded trainers for going out I buy via Amazon.

I never deviate from Marks and Spencer (usually around the £50-£70 mark) and JD Sports (Nike, around £70-£80).

I don’t care enough about shoes to buy anything expensive. Cheap ones seem to last about the same amount of time as middle priced ones, so I just buy the cheapest half decent looking ones I can find.

We can wear trainers at work now though, so won’t be buying anymore shoes until the next wedding/funeral/christening.

Cost wise: trainers I don't like to spend any more than £35 and can usually get the ones I want for £25, for work shoes I'll put a bit more down but £50 would probably be my top end.

I've never been one to care about trainers etc and used to buy the same £20 per of Airwalk's or some gooseberry fool from Sports Direct for years and would do so every 6 months as they'd fall apart. Eventually I paid well over the tops (£60!) for a pair of Nike trainers and they lasted me years so i've stuck to spending more on the bigger brands as they last longer now. The last pair I bought was some Adidas ones that were only about £40 but they're so incredibly comfy.

The most i've ever spent on shoes was on my running shoes which were £120 I think as they're Brooks so i'm guessing that's a big name in the running world but they're super comfy so I won't complain too much.

Ive got two pairs of Brooks GTS18 that are black and look discrete. Cost me £120 about 3 years ago from a local running shop and and £85 recently from DW sports online with a discount code. I have to try them on in store to test the fit. Wear them for work because theyre black.

Ive bought most of my running shoes for the last 5 years from DW sports online too - Asics GT1000, because of a gait test i did. I bought a pair from a sports shop years ago to get the right size. Cost about £85 online, £100 in sports shop.

My work shoes come from Asda, cost £25 and are comfortable and last forever. My trainers usually cost about £20 from Sports Direct, because strawberry float overpaying for shoes.

i buy far too many shoes because i am a mug

however, i think considering you can and will be wearing a pair of shoes for years you should pay a lot more than you would for any other item of clothing.
i bought a pair of boots in 2011 that i still wear today for ~175 and i consider that money well spent

idk it depends

I got some 2018 Jordans (DNA XR?) for like 50 quid on sale at a nike outlet and I was pretty happy with that

Bought a pair of vans with some vapour wave esque asthetic from ASOS the other day for like 60 bucks and again I was ok with that. Tbh with shoes I don't particularly mind shelling out somewhat since they're nice things to have; I'd be willing to pay up to 150 for a nice enough pair.

Get your trainers on Facebook marketplace. I've been getting £180 Nike's for £50

I got a pair of Sketchers shoes for work, they have a memory foam type sole and by god are they comfy!

I spent £60 on those, I have a pair of Adidas trainers which I paid £100 for (pair I designed myself) but I want to grab another pair of Sketchers as they are really nice.
