I wouldn't mind somewhere like Keswick, tbh, if I had a job capable of sustaining me there.

Yep, you'd have to have enough money so that you can get by without a job or at least a part time job just to pay for some bills.

I live in a room right now, so a house would be nice.

I like where I live but if I was to go elsewhere I'd go for somewhere on the mainland. Bavaria would be a pretty good place to live.

I know right? My wife's a designer so I might be able to get in on hers if she ever wants to leave Europe.

As I said in the Heatwave topic, I'm going to one of the towns surrounding the Rutland Water when I finally move. The other option is going to the Lake District - probably Ambleside or one of the other towns on the main road. It'd be a bit difficult getting around without transport, after all, as the bus routes are very scarce on anything but a main road.

North-east coast of England, somewhere quiet and rugged with clifftop and wooded walks. That or a remote Scottish island.

Friends and work are the biggest barriers, and family too.

Japan, ideally somewhere that gets plenty of snow. I'm not sure if I'd want to live there permanently but a couple of years would be nice.

In this country, Sheffield or Leeds maybe.

Generally I'd love to live somewhere that has proper winters and mild summers.

If I stay in this country, somewhere close to central london would be nice. If I leave; New York, LA or some other centre of the english speaking world would be ideal

tho when im old and rich i want to retire to an eternally warm greek island full of cannabis fields where no one would bother me, ever

Not a clue. Kinda enjoying the lifestyle of moving around right now, maybe I'll find a place that interests me enough to settle down. Really enjoyed what I've seen of Romania, Russia and Germany, so they would be fairly high on the list of where I have seen. Of course, would need to devote some serious time to learning the native tongue.

One thing I think about about sometimes is whether I'd necessarily have the choice to properly make that decision for myself. In my case it's the knowledge that when one or both of my parents die I'll inherit their houses (not rich, just separated, and no siblings), and when that happens I'll invariably move back to Cardiff if only for a short while. It's been talked about with my Dad, he loves dogs and it is almost one hundred percent certain that he will have some when he dies, so I'll need to take care of them (been kinda joked about that it would be a condition of his will, that I cannot give them away. Which I'm fine with, love the dugs myself). So maybe proper settling in another country is off the cards for me until such a time, though ideally my parents still have another 30 years in them so I can put some roots down somewhere.

I'd quite like to live in Edinburgh I think, it was lovely. It's like London with more greenery and less people.

The West coast of Ireland. It's wet and windy most of the year and it gets a lot of storms. I'd love a big window looking out on the Atlantic and a super fast BB connection, which I don't think would be possible at moment.

I wouldn't recommend that, i've lived near the coast in Devon and it was bloody terrifying in winter.

Atlantic coast Cornwall/Devon is a good shout actually. Hartland Quay is a beautiful place.

My Dad's side of the family is spread across Connemara. Loved the time I've gotten to spend out there.

I always say I would love to live in California if I could keep my UK employment rights.

You've got the a great climate, a beautiful coastline with beaches and surf, access to ski for some of the year, Yosemite and Vegas within driving distance, Napa Valley, great cities like San Francisco...

I don't think I could live and work in America though.
