Yeah. To be serious for a minute, I'd imagine the real story is boring. She's had surgery that they are too embarrassed to talk about, there have been complications and she currently looks horrendous and doesn't want the world to see her like that.

But that's boring as strawberry float, so I'm sticking with William killed her and they're desperately (and increasingly hilariously) trying to cover it up.

Truth could be that she may be ill and or recovering and they don’t want the press obsessing over it and hounding them continuously so have tried to play it down / low key but royally screwed that up (pun). There is a long history of British press going overboard on any royal coverage and given Diana I understand why they may want her to recover in peace.

Still the bizarre mystery makes for fascinating viewing!

I reckon in the course of whatever procedure she was having, they've uncovered something else wrong, and it turns out to be heritable. The Royal Family are terrified of this becoming public knowledge and having to announce that all the kids who are direct heirs to the throne likely also have this condition, so they're trying to keep Kate and any potential evidence hidden.

Something going on with her face I reckon. Photos released so far have been a) blurry photo from distance with sunglasses, b) fake, photoshopped photo and now c) photo with her turned away from camera.

Botched plastic surgery?

Facing away from the camera when there'd clearly be no reason to do so given the suspicion so far is hilarious. If it was botched plastic surgery it would be better for everyone if they were open about it as it'd mean people who've had the same thing happen to them would feel more confident that they shouldn't feel ashamed of it.
