I generally go for chunky Umbro boots. I've not a flair player at all, so I go for very sturdy boots that are good for hammering the ball and won't bend in a fierce tackle.

I did have Predators when I was a kid though and they were sweet.

Players who wear white boots are always targets for the tough tackles in our football games.

Black or you need a kick in the knackers.

Also I'm not good enough to be running about in white boots.

I'm yet to meet someone who is.

Still, better than yellow.

I think boots that match the colour of your footie socks look cool. But yeah it can look a bit tarty, if that leads to them being a fancy colour.

I don't play footie, at the moment, and don't even have any boots anyway.

Right. I'm getting predators. But which ones? Is it really worth spending £130 when £70 will do the job just as well, or nearly as well?

£130 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on boots.

There always seems to be some sort of sports shop shutting down with around 50% off, so try having a look around.

Not if you have yellow socks.

Nah this will sound silly - they're just not as 'good'. Think Tesco baked beans vs Tesco value baked beans. I don't think they have the rubbery-grippy bits and aren't as light (etc).

Got myself these.

Cool eh?

I was going to go for the top of the range preds (£130) but I honestly don't think I'd notice the benefits.
