-Link to the Past is a great game but compared to other 2D Zelda games that came after it, it isn't as good as some of them. It set up the foundation but other 2D Zelda games have since improved on it. It's like saying "Super Mario Bros 3" is the best Mario game. It isn't, but it had an undeniable impact on its superiors. "Bad" is a very strong word to use, ALTTP certainly isn't a BAD game, but line it up with the later 2D Zelda games and it's mediocre, so his opinion is a little justified. I certainly don't enjoy playing it as much as the others, cause it reeks too much of "been there done that" - a side effect of almost every other Zelda game since then copying the heck out of it.

-Thinking Skyward Sword is good is NOT justifiable. It's story is okay I guess, and I've certainly marked Super Paper Mario as a "good" Mario game because of its story despite crap gameplay, but Skyward Sword's story is nowhere near good enough to make us overlook the crap gameplay. Remake the game with proper controls, less Fi's counsel and not explaining what every collectible is EVERY SINGLE TIME you collect it and maaybe it would be a good game. As is, I'd rather play the Wand of Gamelon.

SMB2 is literally called Super Mario Bros. 2 but that doesn't stop the fact that it's not really a Mario game!

Skyward Sword is good but just in places. There are many things in the game, namely Fi, who just wastes so much time waffling on and interrupting gameplay. A lot of puzzles and bosses are mostly dumbed down, a lot of them resorting to the use of the beetle for some reason. Or the puzzles just involve pointing at something and pressing a button with no real obstacle like having to time it or work around something. But for a nice change, the combat is actually one of the best if not the best of any Zelda. Overall I'd say it was good, just not great.

I was always partial to Wind Waker myself.... can we shoehorn that in to the voting options somehow?

Fair enough. I always believed it wasn't called SMW2 in Japan, or it was at least not intended to be.

From what I've seen they just called it Super Mario: Yoshi Island, no mention of World anywhere.

It's good but I've never finished it because the triforce hunt was rubbish.

My maybe controversial opinion is that the original looks better than the HD remake, because it has flatter cel shading.

I don't thnk that is, many prefer the original I think. I do. I think the best HD version of Wind Waker is via Dolphin. Someone posted here and it looked strawberry floating stunning, much better than WWHD.
