That Carrion Empire box looks excellent, especially as i am interested in Skaven and potentially Flesh Eater Courts.

Giving Killteam a Nightvault-like competitive expansion is interesting, i wish they'd go the other way and make Nightvault more narrative like Killteam in return.

Wow how long have Cult Armies been officially supported? I remember there was one in the back of a White Dwarf like 25 years ago that was scratch built. It looked so cool back then, I was crushed that I could not have one

Since 2016, they were brought back first in a 40K board game called Deathwatch Overkill and then got their own codex and a bunch more models later that year.

I spent this afternoon assembling the nightvault models and am amazed that they put the nighthaunt in the starter boxes to draw people in - they are so fragile and fiddly to assemble that doing 7 was more than enough for me, if i had to do 30+ i'd be a bit put off.

So i've gone whole hog back into this, ordering the Genestealer Cult Battleforce:

And the Carrion Empire AoS box for the skaven and will probably sell the Flesh Eater Courts:

Why not? It doesn't take away all the hilarious grimdark edginess of the "real" setting and helps on-ramp more people into a plastic addiction.

Yeah, they're for the younger Warhammer hobbyists. Thought it was pretty cool that they were able to get David Tennant and Billie Piper to narrate the audiobooks.

Thats actually a great idea, introduce younger people to the universe and then as they get older they might seek out the more grown up products.

I just picked up the Core Space Starter Set today.

Image

I don't know a great deal about the game, but it looks pretty good and the sets come with all the terrain and stuff. My brother is trying to get me back into Warhammer 40K (I'll probably go with Ultramarines if I do) and the terrain from this will probably be easily useable there as well.

I was legit waiting for you to post in this thread. Looks decent. The only thing I would add is a wash to some of those crevices and pits, such as Thrakka Green or Badab Black.

there is agrax in there and some nurgle rot in most of them

I had a close call with the nihalak on the jetpack so I decided to just call it and stop applying stuff on top of stuff when I had an acceptable result

Fair. If washes dick you over good thing is you can always just add more water to get rid of it. Grab a cheap painters sponge for like £1 on Amazon to wick away what you don't want or tear up some kitchen towel.

You can also use washes with a tiny tiny brush as well as any other paint.
