Here's another one:

I don't know if I've posted my latest finished miniatures, but here's two of the big trolls and a orc type with character. The dwarve and witch were particularly tricky as the miniatures are just tiny. The trolls were good fun as they are big models so quite easy to add lots of grime and details to.

The skin tones on that troll are superb.

Thanks. The trolls were good fun to paint, and the skin was especially satisfying as it looked proper gooseberry fool and bland at first (paint straight from a pot look as you'd expect), but loads of flesh shade, then painting back over with more shading and layering gives a nice puffy skin look, and they look like grubby bastards too.

I really enjoy the base part, although it's starting to look a bit samey, so on the other big models I'll try something different. Got two large dragons to paint next.

How do you embed Instagram as every URL permutation I can think of doesn't work, I've been working on some historical stuff with oil paints as a weathering wash and don't want to have to upload them somewhere else again.

I'm pretty sure that's borked. I'll look into it.

Here is the Lord of Change I painted for a friend earlier this year. I've recently invested in some decent reading glasses which has seen me return to painting minis.

Thanks. I will admit though, I'm not so keen to paint a figure quite as big again for some time!

Thanks, Vic. Took a bloody age, but it was a good learning experience. While my friend is happy there are certainly areas I wished I'd approached differently.

It was actually a gift for his support during my separation, however he twisted my arm to pay me something. I eventually agreed to some cash for painting materials.

Here's some other figures I did prior to and during lockdown.

And this is work in progress. I've quite a few old GW figures.

I painted a chaos knight for my lurid 80s neon Emperor's Children army (that I don't actually plan to use for modern 40k but that's another story) and I definitely don't want to paint anything that big for a while:

However saying that I have gotten heavily into Mobile Suit Gundam recently and have found some indie wargame rules for actually using the 1/144 scale model kits, but as they come on pre-coloured sprues it would just be a case of applying a transparent layer of varnish or something and just weathering/highlighting from there rather than starting from bare grey plastic, so it should be a lot easier.
