what

Ha. Yeah for some reason this year every tournament I went to I decided to take a new army to the event. (Most of the time it was the week before the event too that I’ve painted them).

Even ended up getting a few painting nominations as well for a some of the events.

Next year I’m painting the Ossiarch Bonereapers but to the best of my ability so going to be a much longer project.

I think it’s because I work better under pressure. Always have done through life like uni etc as well.

I can have boxes of models waiting to be painted and they just don’t happen. Give me a deadline for a tournament and I know it needs to be done so I’ll sit and paint.

I’ve learnt so many hobby cheats over the last few years it definitely speeds up painting.

It makes sense, especially how they relate it to 40k/HH in comparison. I've never met anyone who plays the 30k rules (which are a lot more like earlier editions of 40k) but they're a more niche subset that is clearly profitable or else they wouldn't do it, even to a more limited extent.

EDIT: I went to Warfare 2019 in Reading this weekend, I managed to avoid buying tonnes of models (settling on a couple of boxes) but getting a lot of laser cut MDF terrain which has really come along in leaps and bounds in terms of value for money and detail. One thing I did pick up was the starter set for Beyond the Gates of Antares at the bring and buy stand very cheaply on recommendation from a friend who was there:

As far as I understand it's basically Bolt Action in space; more emphasis of fire suppression of enemy units to enable manoeuvre, irregular/unpredictable turn order with reaction fire etc.

Went to a local Age of Sigmar tournament this weekend, 28 players, took my Seraphon and Gotrek which I had one practice game with. Ended up going 3-0, finishing 4th and won best order. More than happy with that!

Has anyone played Star Wars Legion? Few of us down the club are considering it but not sure how it plays.

It was probably a bring back old Coca Cola plan all along.

I think it just so happens the unseen leg is exactly behind the other.

Manage to preorder the Sisters box set after my local store got a couple more for their allocation. Not a clue what to do with it though. Either sell it on or start the army but have a feeling quite a few at the club will be starting them in the new year.

They seem to be really doubling down on the steampunk thing for the AdMech, what's next, a zeppelin?

I agree, it's always to see nice minis but within that range they're all sort of samey. One thing I still like about 'nids is they are really diverse.

falsey, your new bdsm waifu. (sorry, kind of offensive objectifying a cosplayer, but I wanted to do a community joke)

Looks almost like a tilt-shift shot, and if it weren't for the the "real" face, a super scale miniature. Really impressive.

Background is a little neo-gothic though. Should come to england!
